That's a promising fic, tho. [/B][/QUOTE]

Its adventure side is really good, and the building tension between light side and dark side representatives is going places. The stated intent to make a Talimancer seem legit worries me, because the fluff sections have been... dull. As long as they don't exceed a Troy Denning level of Romance😛lot, I'll keep reading. (Easily in the top 3 active stories from Spacebattles, so don't consider this a damning criticism!)

Anyone else think those custom storm troopers look like mini KKK figurines?

Yes so buy them

Does anyone have a good recommendation to start off with in the Conan mythos? I just ordered Conan the Conqueror, but does anyone have any other recommendations if you've read the books?

Just any compilations featuring stories by Robert E. Howard. Most of the original Conan stories are short stories, rather than novels. Conan the Conquerer/The Hour of the Dragon is one of the few stories by Howard that was an actual novel.

There were Conan stories written by later writers, but it started with Robert E. Howard.

Nemebro has never actually read any official Conan fiction. I told her all of that on skype.

So apparently Games Workshop has gone insane or something.

Bummer.

Go on.

The new Warhammer Fantasy has like, the dumbest rules ever.

So there's no unit points anymore. You just assemble an army by, get this, just bringing whatever the **** you want. There's no balance either, there's no rules about how big an army you or your opponent can have. You can have 100 hydra's vs 10 skavenslaves and its totally cool. There's no reason not to just have the best units over and over. With no unit sizes.

Also I don't think there's even different armies anymore? I think you can just use whatever you want from any faction, that's the impression I'm getting.

And there's no stats anymore, either. Theres how many wounds a unit can take, their movement and their chance to run and thats it.

You can have two turns in a row, regularly.

There's a rule where, if your opponent has 1/3 more units than you, you get to pick an objective (kill a character, have one unit survive to turn 6) and if you achieve it you win. The whole game. So even if you're getting completely obliterated, you achieve total victory.

There's a type of attack that just instantly hits and does damage with no dice rolls at all.

There are now space marines in fantasy. Not even kidding, they wear power armor, have the big shoulders, are supersoldiers and have different chapters. Also everything has a really ****ing stupid name now. Like Orruks, Grots, Ogors, Steamhead Duardin (Dwarfs). I can't remember what the Undead are called but it's something dumb like Deathrattlers.

And there's a bunch of other stuff. At the point I've read into, people are just trying to work out if it's even possible to play the game, let alone if it's actually good.

Any of you clowns started watching Mr Robot? That show is AWESOME.

How can rational people decide to debate God, and then attempt to describe him using human logic and rationale, is beyond me. The arrogance is astounding. Either subscribe to the idea that God exists and he's all knowing all powerful and more than likely, you won't understand everything or even most things, or that there is no God. You can't subscribe to the idea of something higher than you, then have the arrogance to explain away his/her ideals. You can't have it both ways, pick one.

How else could humans talk about God, if not by describing him using human logic and rationale? Even the term "all knowing" and "all powerful" you use to describe him are completely human terms. Heck. Even "God" is a human term.

And please, stop your attempts to impose your personal black-and-white worldview on every topic. So you can either believe in God like the "holy" texts describe him or not believe in him at all? That's funny, pal. I know a broad selection of deists who will happily disagree with you.

"God" is a purely human concept. And if there is a higher lifeform, it will most likely fit non of the human terms, that are nothing but the expression of our lack of comprehension of anything not human. So why apply them at all?

I'm no different than you imposing your "I don't believe in God but if I do I'm going to describe him using my own biases". Hypocrisy is a *****.

"God" isn't a purely human concept. "God" exists in all three major religions, and much moreso in the Torah than anywhere else. God and his name exist in the scriptures. Stop calling it a human concept unless you're continuing to push your agenda while attempting to criticize me at the same time.

Solid Rogue One hype.

Anyone else struggling with the quote function?

No, but that's because we are sober.

Try quoting Zamp's post.
