A somewhat unlikeable thing that Abrams is pulling is the legitimacy of the dark side. This is something that's already been done in the EU, but in the canon thusfar the Dark Side has been like a cancer to the force, opposing it's true nature. Abrams identifies the force as having two legitimate sides, which is a little less interesting imo.

Looks like a Bad mofo, big contrast to the "perfect Jedi" image he had in Legends. Love em both either way.
