Ant, i bookmarked the thread so within the next 6-8 weeks i'll get a response out. i thought i'd get more than 2 days after midterms before the new problem sets got sent out but this is the hell i've chosen for myself. the 10 week quarter schedule here is really very strange and foreign

Pretty much. There was a lot of doubt about whether he was genuinely wary of her or if he was testing Dooku, or even if she was too much of an advantage in the war.
Then the TCW Magazine among other things confirmed he was genuinely afraid of her becoming too strong and standing with Dooku against him.

Damn would have made so much more sense if Ventress got amped instead of Savage.
Of course amping Savage was all part of a plan to get Maul back. Still, I'm sure Talzin could have manipulated Ventress to do the same.
