It really sucks because when a lot of effort and care is put into villains by Dave they can be great (Vader)

Also Tarkin, but then neither he or Vader were said to be the main villains so that's probably why.

Honestly, I was fine with Dooku's portrayal until Dark Disciple and Maul's until Rebels.

I pretend Dark Disciple never happened.

Dark Disciple unfortunately molested Ventress, and she was great beforehand IMO

Nah. TCW's portrayal of Ventress was weak from the start.

Dark Disciple is terrible, yes. What it did to the good Count is only part of the problem.

Beyond that, I don't think canon has made its mind up on the Force cosmology yet. The introduction of Bendu and the implications of not being light or dark smacks of EU fanwank.

Meh, Dooku was so much less impressive than in Legends.
