Whether or not she assumed them to be allergies, you cannot suggest contracting a short term and easily fixed condition somehow makes an individual less prepared for the Oval Office, or less likely to survive it.
Reagan was 73 when he was inaugurated for his second term, twenty years ago. She has more chance of surviving than he did, if you look at their actual medical histories.
