Seriously guys, stop using a social thread to do things you'd do at social gatherings, like talk about politics and philosophy on top of what you ate for lunch.
Since the first ten pages of this thread consisted of people lamenting about the change in attitude of the forums, and then turning from bashing each other to actually bonding socially, I don't see how closing this thread is going to help anything. This is one of the few threads I can converse with the SWVF crew (And not the goons of the GDF) and because we're not talking about SW, it's a nice break. There's some days you just don't give a damn what Luke Skywalker can do to Kyle Katarn if they were both locked in a meat freezer, wielding only spatulas.
If you ban serious discourse and sharing of ideas from a public forum on the grounds of "parading egos", you might as well close the whole damn thing down.
