What's financial security when you don't have a dick?

You need to sort out your priorities.

Edit: Also, you clearly hate America.

Like I said, they named the hubble telescope after it, so no complaints. And I hate American consumers. I love the constitution, strip clubs, and lan parties.

Is it our freedom? Why do you hate our freedom? Maybe we will demolish your infrastructure and leave you gaping, thereby inviting looters to plunder your most valuable relics.

Um... Keith Olberman is an entertainer. He was not presenting news, he was presenting an opinion of the news. Would you call a newspaper biased because it hires an op-ed columnist to present opinions in the proper place?
Spoiler:
The correct answer is 'no.'

While MSNBC is (strongly) biased, categorizing it thus because of Olberman is foolish. Anyway, I wasn't presenting it as news any more than I would present a Dawkins rant as Science. It was simply an eloquent expression of a viewpoint that parallels my own.

So your umbrage is, quite aside from being misplaced, laughable.

k, and i wasn't trying to give YOU a hard time about the article. It is interesting, and i totally agree with you that Sarah Palin is a quack. We got a really interesting choice of VP's this time. Sarah, I'm one of you, Palin, and Joe, I can't talk without saying something i will have to apologize for later, Biden. You talk about a couple of winners.

But i don't like this: Watch Obama's answer, starting at the 1:00 mark. I don't claim it means he wants to kill old people. I just don't like it. It is too much power for the government.

Why would any American consumer probe into my anus with my own wang? That's just retarded.

Ron Paul should have won. I hope he runs in 2012. If anyone knows how to run the economics of this country, it's definitely him.

Obama's points:
1. Sign a living will to simplify end of life care
2. Subjective evaluations of continued care cannot be made by the gov't.
3. Rules: good care for everyone
Moderator:
MONEY MAY BE LIMITED
4. End of life care is tough & I don't want bureaucracies making those decisions
5. Those decisions are already made, often by reaching the limits of current care offered (just run out of money)
6. Societal issue, not legal issue
7. Cut waste: extra tests/drugs that don't help
8. Stop advocating operations that won't help
9. Do not prevent good decisions

Obama's answer appears to be saying that he wants to mitigate the power of the government, noting that the decision must still be made and is made by companies. Nothing here screams death panel.

End of life care is hard. 😐

Agonizing.

It tears at your every generous impulse, twisting the most noble emotions and turning them against you. It brings great men and women low. It is, without a doubt, the most difficult thing I have ever witnessed or experienced. I have watched as both my maternal and now my paternal grandfather(s) went through their last days. In both cases a man surrounded by life slipped away, losing the use of himself in a way that terrifies me.

My grandpa passed away early Monday morning. His last days were short: my mom says it is 'a blessing' it went so quickly. I'm not sure such a loss can ever be called a blessing; such a decline, however routine to the human race, cannot be praised. Only the cessation of pain can be lauded.

Do not for a moment think that this issue is academic. It strikes at the heart of every family: every child and every spouse, every son and daughter. To accuse Obama of greedy power mongering so recently after the death of his mother is at once insensitive and insulting, boorish and crude. That the Hate Machine seeks to manipulate the masses with speak of 'Death Panels' (and you may not deny that the thought, or at least the concept factors into your presentation here) is sickening. It transforms the final parting into a rhetorical tactic, a means to an end. In their blind search for the right lever to pull to send the nation careening back into their own corner the fear mongers and deceitful demagogues have invoked the most private and painful rite of humanity.

They have crossed a sacred line, one of the few universal human connections in order to gain political power. By buying into their desecration you give them power. If I must I will state it unequivocally: Obama, and his extension, the government, does not want the authority to decide who lives and dies. Obama, through the government, does not want to dictate end of life decisions. Obama does not seek to arbitrate the time of anyone's passing.

It offends me deeply that the process of death is being used as a pressure point in a political gambit.

DS you owe me a post.

I'm getting a bit nonplussed how anyone can claim it's the LIBERAL economists that've screwed things up considering the past 8 years...especially now, with the economy actually having the first bright spot in how long?

I'm not talking about the past 8 years Lightsnake, I'm talking about the 20th century. And wait, economy having the first bright spot? ROFL!!

I don't mean to offend you LS but stick to either star wars or philosophy as you have no idea what you're talking about. "But the media reported the recession is ending lolz!!" Just stop.

As for Obama, I already predicted the double standards people like you will use. If he succeeds, it's because he's awesome. If he fails, it's Bush's fault. Bernanke is incompetent like Greenspan before him, and Obama is already at 1.4 trillion dollars in only 6 months of his presidency, driving the economy into deep, longterm depression.

After roughly 2+ years of self-discovery and drug-abuse, I'm back! Version 2.0/ New and Improved! Watch me as I lurk for a response 😮

You...

Its interesting. I understand where you get all of your points 1-9, and i don't chide you for drawing those conclusions. I can look at the exact same quote by the POTUS, and draw completely different conclusions.

Politics are like that. And that is what makes them annoying.

Agree to disagree is the only way to go after it methinks without making enemies.

and dancing bananas are harbringers of peacefulness.

oh look, there they are:

💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃

oh, and i think you give me too much credit. My num. 1 reason for not wanting health care reform is simply i don't think that our government will be able to afford it without raising taxes, and i don't want to pay more taxes.

Did you see my geithner quote that i posted here a few days back?

Its greed. Our government is so deeply in debt it will NEVER get out, and they want us to start paying for health care? How about balancing the budget and paying down the debt, and show a tad bit of fiscal responsibility and THEN try for something like this.

Its inevitable that the money for this thing WILL RUN OUT. (see cash for clunkers, Stimulus package, 3 tries at a bailout, war in Iraq budget) Our government is INCAPABLE of budgeting correctly. They screw it up everytime, and someone, somewhere (generally the taxpayer) gets shafted. I'm sick of it.

There is no question that our economy has weakened since Democrats took over Congress in 2006. Check any numbers that you want. Numbers don't lie in this case. The bailouts infuriated me. The Stimulus infuriated me to a lesser degree. The VERY IDEA of lobbyists in Washington make me so angry i can't see straight. It is very simple, Our government is corrupt. Our government is broken. Republicans, and Dem's both, if they wanted change, if they really wanted to improve things, have BOTH had their opportunities. They have both failed. The only possible explanation is this: They don't want change.

They want us at each others throats. They want Dems voting Democratic, because they are terrified of Republicans winning, and Vice Versa, and we eat it up.

We are given 2 choices to vote for. In 08, i despised both choices. Obama, because he gave long speeches that sounded impressive but said nothing, and McCain because he started every sentence with "my friends".

Now, there is no question that Obama lied several times while campaigning. He said no more lobbyists, and that was a lie, and he said no more taxes on households that make under 250,000 a year, and that was a lie, and he said no more pork. None. That was a lie.

Generally when confronted with these three things, a Democrat will say: "Well, Bush had MORE lobbyists, and Bush cut taxes for rich people, and Bush had MORE pork. (respectively)"

This, my friends (lest we forget McCain) is unacceptable. If you listen to the left, they will have you believe W was the worst president in history. If this is so, how does comparing Obama to Bush help you at all? It shouldn't. Everytime you draw that sort of comparison, by your own admission you make Obama closer to the worst president of all time.

In my mind, clearly, both sides are incompetent and corrupt. I don't really know what to suggest to change it, but i've seen enough politics to know it isn't going to happen when every single congressman, senator and executive branch member is a millionaire. Whose interest are they therefore looking out for? Millionaires, simply put.

Somethings got to change. Any ideas?
