Not mine, just an excellent point.

Whoever wrote that needs to get his facts straight. We were the dominant economic superpower during WWII. Also, we didn't help Japan and Germany "rebuild what we just destroyed". That's a ridiculous point to make since those two countries completely turned their shit around after they got their asses handed to them, and put their power in more capable hands. Furthermore, Japan has spent the last 20 years in a deflationary spiral so that's not someone to look up to, although their economy is one of the best in the world. Finally, we allowed other countries to pass us up due to fiscal and monetary mismanagement. Those countries took our economic values of the post WWII era and applied it to themselves, while we continue to live beyond our means and let moronic politicians and the federal reserve continue our collapse.

We very much rebuilt Japan. I don't really know about Germany. MacArthur was in charge.

Once again Dexter outdoes all its competition by a good country mile. Its surpassed Lost now as my favourite TV series. Fantastic episode this week, and a fantastic season over all.

They keep repeating this whole, Dexter being desperate for a partner/friend thing and its like, you think Dexter would know better by now.

Lumen is clearly not super cool with what Dexter really is.

I think part of the problem is that we get into these wars without some kind of clear goal. It's like we've forgotten what Clausewitz said. War is a huge investment and it had better reap some decent returns.

War has generally been about getting something instead of well "fixing something." War is a tool with which to impose policy on others. However, I'm kinda of curious as to why we would want to keep Iraq and Afghanistan.

I've heard some good stuff about Dexter I should probably get into it though I doubt it'll top Lost/The X-Factor for me.

What? This episode she pretty much saw exactly what he was and accepted him for it, on top of telling him that she's only confortable when she's with him. In fact he calmed her down and let her go to sleep just by looking into her eyes and being there for her. His giving her the bloodslide and her keeping it kind of symbolise that they're connected now and trust each other.

I agree that its getting kind of old with Dex needing someone to connect with but it's understandable why he's like that way. His mum, his dad, Harry, his brother and then each of the other respective big bads have all died and he's felt connections to all of them. Finally his wife died and he's obviously kind of replacing her. Nottomention his whole hiding his true self from everyone thing.

But I like the way they've done it with Lumen. He didn't try to form a connection with her, he tried to push her away at first. I feel the connection they've formed has been very natural and interesting personally. Evolving from saving her others butts and sharing their true selves with each other.

Also DexXLumen 4evar!

You really should watch it. I recommend at least watching teh first episode to see if its what you're into. Though I think it will be, as you seem to like character introspection and a multi-faceted layered plot and Dex is chocked full of that.

Sounds boring, needs more explosions and zombies.

One of the characters is the ghost of Dexs step-father/a split-personality. Thats....kind of a zombie.

I probably will, I could do with another great show now that Lost has finally ended.

Holy shit I can't believe I would ever be capable of typing something like that...

The X-Files lol, not The X-Factor.

WTF are you talking about? She was clearly uneasy. Lumen isn't like Dexter. She's suffering from temporary trauma. This facade isn't going to last.

She was uneasy, as anyone would be in that situation. But her accepting the blood-slide clearly shows she's on-board with what Dexter's doing. Hell, it was her idea, and shes practically dragged Dex along with her. She obviously trusts him, just by looking into his eyes and knowing he's close stops her rape-flashback panic attack and lets her have the first deep sleep shes had in whats been apparantly weeks. And she flat out tells him that being with him is 'the only part of [her] life that makes sense anymore.'

Also, the twisted smile she wore when Dex snapped that guys neck two weeks ago isn't the look of someone who's going to suddenly be against killing people who deserve it.

Boy, I'm sure glad I'M not gay.

Yeah, you're much too straight to go on the internet and debate about things you're interested in. Nope, you've never done that before.

He's got this weird idea that the things that he specifically likes (like David Hasslehoff and Jersey Shore, wut) are not gay.

I don't remember claiming to ever like the Jersey Shore. I mean I love the idea of 8 moronic guidos embarrassing themselves on a daily basis but that's the extent of it. And how can you not like the man who was responsible for the fall of the Berlin Wall? David "I've been looking for Freedom" Hasselholf is a god among men.

Even though she didn't look excited about taking it and seemed more freaked out than anything? Sure.

Dude, she passed out because of the lack of sleep. It doesn't matter how freaky the rape flashback scene is, at some point the body just stops. Dexter just happened to be there staring at her while she passed out.

She was gang raped and then saved by a killer. Her entire life is upside down and nothing probably makes sense. To cope, she's trying to make sense out of Dexter and use him as a kind of rock to hold on to. Lumen is not in a mentally healthy person.

Or it could be the smile of a mentally ****ed up woman who was gang raped and tortured.

Eventually Lumen is going to crawl her away out of the mental shithole she's in and realize Dexter for the psycho he is.

And Jersey Shore sucks. I'm ashamed to call myself Italian.
