Its a Wow clone, the graphics suck, the fighting sucks, teh classes suck, the mechanics suck, everything else sucks. Plus Guild Wars fanboyism. Lots of comparisions to how epic GW is.

He was probably too busy ruling the galaxy and being far more important and powerful than Nihilus or Ragnos (given his numerous references and presence throughout canon source material compared to them) to come up with innovative ship designs, so I suppose we can just give him a pass.

Meh, the whole "WoW clone" argument comes up for every MMO these days. I've played WoW, SW Galaxies, DDO and LOTRO, and they all have very similar gameplay mechanics in combat and sometimes crafting or PvP. But usually this type of complaining is baseless. After all, you wouldn't call every FPS a "Wolfenstein/Doom" clone, would you?
The graphics do look impressive. I have a good graphics card, so when you check out the video , you can tell despite the size the atmosphere and backgrounds look good. The character models look good too, even though the Yoda-esque Jedi looks cartoonish, the Twi'lek closeup showed very fine facial detail. Most MMOs have mainstream and high def graphics patches, so it's no surprise it's not top of the line. They have to be able to appeal to gamers while not alienating those poor folk with GeForce 6600s.
The fighting looks pretty fun actually. Fast paced, and it's not all about WASD'ing all over the place, spamming F keys and quickkeys to beat folks. Characters can use cover or remain stationary while doing Force attacks/snipes etc. which gives it a better sense of immersion, unlike WoW or DDO where you crab run all over the damn place.
I recall that classes have niches (i.e. vanguard is tank, guardian is DPS, etc.) but that they can overlap so that groups aren't ground to a halt for lack of Class A or B. This is great, imo, because nothing is worse than trying an instance with no healer, regardless of MMO. Classes like the Rogue in DDO are borderline useless in combat more often than not, so while they come in handy with locks and traps, they provide little support. Here, the Smuggler class can use a heal drone and be more useful than a horsefly nipping at the enemy's rear end.
I also like how the game plays like a multi-player role playing game, as if someone cracked KotOR and allowed multiple people to play a group with goals in common besides XP. Immersion again.
I'll say I'm still excited.

Didn't have any time before to work on it, but I've recently come into a lot of time now with the job change. I certainly enjoyed the RP aspect, but the competitiveness ripped the forum apart in some ways.

Nal and Alleh did get a separation. They've been separated for months. Note that she's not on the board anymore, not even registered.
