Question.

Ok I was walking around Wal-Mart the other night and I noticed a family of seven walk into the stoor. There where 4 little girls 1 little boy and a mom and a dad. All the girl where wearing long blue skirts and the boy was wearing a blue or dark collar too. They where wearing old-looking cloths that I would think people would wear in the eighteen hundreds. And all the girls where wearing these blue caps or cloths over their heads.

I was wondering who they might be. I was thinking that they might be Amish but I doubt Amish people visit Wal-Mart. But then again im not very familiar with the practice.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hmmm Amish or Mennonite? Mennonites use electricity.

Lots of Amish here, they only ride horse and buggy.

.....stunt doubles.....

Is going to Wal-Mart apart of eithers culture? It was funny they where all walking around the store in a group. Looking at purses, and stuff. Hehe.

time travelers......sent to destroy walmart before it corrupts the future...oh wait, too late

I wonder how many amish girls actually rebel. I know no ex-amishes.

I've seen them at restaurants.......They keep to themselves usually..........When I say "hi"...they seem very shy to interact.

Imagine trying to get an amish girl's phone number. You cant. And whats sad is that a lot of amish girls are cute.

They are given a choice whether to leave their area and see what the real world is about and decide.....

Really? Awhile ago I saw a documentary on such living and from the looks of it its actually quite hard to leave. But that was just a documentary...

i saw a doco on them too, at a certain age (late teens) they get time to experiance life in the "english" world for something like 3 years then have to chose which life they want, but if they dont go back to their familys their practicly disowned. in the 3 years they dress "english," drive cars, get drunk, they were smoking weed and getting it on in the doco i saw. pretty crazy stuff really

Wait I remember what was in the documentary I saw. There where a group of people who lived like Amish but they forced all the girls they gave birth to to marry the older leaders that lived with them and have like 10 of their children. Then the guy would marry another young girl and have like another 10 children.

i met a guy at [Spam.] who was always being mistaken for an amish dude... he never liked that... maybe hes the guy you saw... hmm....

Hmm...If they were amish they would most likely be wearing bonnets (I could be wrong), and the man would be in a kind of black outfit that would look formal to us. Then again I could be wrong. I've actually seen an amish couple; A man and a woman, in Wal-Mart. It may've just been for a play or something but who the hell comes in full costume to Wal-Mart? So, I don't know.
