The scene is also interesting as a test for Erik, because Raven was his closest member of the Brotherhood. Her losing her powers early, we see how far he's willing to go. He is sad, but he chose his mission a long time ago; no regular humans can join him. Pyro was shocked at leaving her, but understood it was the only thing for them to do. I know I heard females in the theatres gasp, when he says "You're not one of us, anymore." 🙁

Not really, b/c he didn't know there abilities before releasing them.
When he first saw Multiple Man he said something along the lines of, "We can use a man of your abilities".
Which tells me he was just finding out then what they could do and didn't have anything already planned for him.
