I think he had to make more effort than he expected with Anakin. He had just beaten the senior of the two and expected Anakin to be a complete walkover. He did for Anakin pretty darn well in the end but I suspect he was very surprised by what Anakin produced.
With Yoda, of course, he KNEW it eas going to be a damn hard fight.
It's actually surprising isn;t it? To see the BAD guy knackered and then having to fight ANOTHER big threat. It's what you would normally expect for the hero.
Spot on Ush, only I think Obi lost too easy, he looked third rate fighter.
But I guess Dooku was surprised by the Anakin`s force power.
I guess this is why Vader gets so dangerous, his suprieour use of the dark side. Really gonna "put an extra burdon" on the shoulders of his opponent. Like an extra wheigt on them during their feights
Every single person who has seen the movie whom I have talked to has said that they thought the advantage was to Yoda. If that's what most people got out of it, then that's probably what George Lucas is going for. And if you can prove to me without a shadow of a doubt that they were clear equals then I will gladly admit that I am wrong.
Well, most people I know that saw it though there was nothing in it, Lauren, so I am not impressed by your idea that that was what everyone thought. I don't NEED to prove that they were clear equals; as neither beat the other the film shows that. You need to prove Yoda's superiority.
In any case, as I said before, most people around HERE agree with the idea that they are equals. So unless you have something better to add than "my friends disagree" I'll go ahead and close this one.
actually, when I first saw the movie, I also thought Yoda was the better one, but after ush disagreed I watched it again and really payed attention to their moves instead of being overwhelmed, and than I had to change my opinion about it!
so I really advice everyone to look at it again (perhaps in slo mo) to get a better idea
master harmax, one question about book
The screenplay, or whatever it is that you have, does it show the saber battle like the "film"-cut?
Just curious, as basically every piece of material shows the "original" battle--although I think the "film-cut" was probably the best approach...
But it's odd that they would change it so late--as the published books all have Dooku with dual sabers fighting Yoda, and we don't get to see the cool Force use, etc. (Yoda just comes out, ignites his saber, deflects some blows, then goes all bad@ss on Dooku, film version was the best idea IMO, still KINDA weird though 😮 )
Finti, you say this:
Yoda use a cane, even so he didnt seem to be heavy breating, more like he used to be. (maybe Lees age as an real actor, but I doubt it)
I'm not saying you're wrong, since you say yourself that you doubt it--as in it might not even be the case.
But I'm pretty sure that they said in the making of Ep II that Lee had a saber double; now that sounds crazy, but we've seen what Visual Effects they can do in movies now, ESPECIALLY Star Wars (and the LOTR, although I haven't seen that). And if you've seen "THE ONE" Jet Li fights himself, so you can see where I'm going here.
No big deal, just telling you what I heard...though I have no idea who actually did the fight, but Lee is what, about 80 years old they said?
NO OFFENSE TO LEE if ppl are all high on Count Dooku.
