I think it is most likely chance, yes.
But why the Christian God? Why not the Muslim, or the Roman ones? Why not the Indiand gods? Even of you believe in a designer. Why the God of the New Testament? Totally no reason for that.

Do you really think you're so special that you couldnt have happened by chance? The fact are clearly in favor of the evolution. YOU are blind by referenceing nothing else other than the Bible and your own opinion. Just bacuse you think so, doesnt make it so. We have evidence. You have conjecture.
If I were, truly, the Prince of Lies, I'd write a book claiming it was the Word of God. I'd further make sure everyone was so convinced of its authenticity, that they would accept no other POV. While defending the book and its writings with every fiber of their being, they'd never know, never suspect the truth.
