Technically, we've had to make small consessions and/or rule tweaks for guys like Thor, GL, and Surfer too....all of whom have done things like stop time and sent people to other dimensions. Having a tourney without a few character tweaks is almost impossible. I'd like to avoid it, but it's usually inevitable.

Strange and Fate are too powerful period. Even their base-level attacks can be devistating. And neutering half of Strange's spells just to allow him is like allowing Galactus, but saying he can only hit as hard as Supes or something. So yeah, we had to tweak Shaman a touch...but he's not Strange, with or without the additional powers.
If i were playing i'd draft Vengor (from Dungeons and Dragons) during the episodes where he has all the kids weapons
Invulnerable magical shield
Superstrength magical club attack
Magic arrows
Invisibility
Magic pull-out-anything-you-can-think-of hat
A Unicorn so you can teleport (optional)
and... ermmm.... a stick that gets slightly longer when you want it to
