those are the first reactions of someone being dumped. but in time you will get over it.

I think I read somewhere that on average it takes a thrid of the time you were together to get over your ex 😬

I think the fact that she is out there in college living her life is one thing, but to request that you put your life, or love life, on hold for four years is downright outrageous, Rex.

What if she meets someone there? What if she changes her mind? You're f*cked. Nobody is saying "Don't be hurt" and in situations with love, heart rules mind a lot of the time. You don't do what you know you should. However, you should try your hardest to see reason.

Don't rule out the possibility of getting together again, but don't wait four years for it. If it happens, it happens. In four years or less you will probably want different things.

Sorry for you Rex, I know the feeling (along with about everybody else here I guess). It's hard to give words of true comfort in cases like this, and I know that what ever anyone says seems redundant now.
But hey, this is not the end. And even how distant it may seem right now, re-found happiness is not that far away, as long as you keep on chasing and deserving it.

It would suit anyone to display a certain amount of compassion towards someone in distress.
