I don't like the fact that everyone always thinks everything made in the OTF is just OTF based. If anyone else in the forum cared they'd view all kinds of different forums on the site during the day.

Yes, because what a flawed logical path it is for them to take. Assuming that the OTF contains OTF material. It's comments like this which clearly depict why the OTF is where some members make their first and only posts.

I only come here because some of the members I interact with post here and it's a place, aside from PMs, for casual conversation.
People often come here to discuss things they are interested in, and there are specific forums for that. I know you love the OTF, but to deny that its sole purpose is to be KMC's compost heap is just naive. I've defended your right to make these threads, I wasn't specifically demeaning you, but you can't expect people like me, who visit other forums on this site and see people with reasonable (also arguable) amounts of intelligence, who debate specific topics, to take the results seriously.

I Hardly completely love the OTF. The Sig forum is great, came as art, comic book forums, movie forums and GDF at times. I may post here most often but, just because its technically Off topic, doesn't mean it can't have something to do with the whole forum.

and that is all the OTF is. So maybe this whole contest is for the "GREAT people who have contributed to Making KMC a better place" in exclusivly the OTF, the people that are always nice when you talk to them in casual conversation, even if the threads they post in have no real meaning.
You can say anything you want in the OTF, start more or less any thread you want.
The OTF couldn't have a thread about politics because it'd be moved to the GDF, as that's where it belongs. The OTF can LITERALLY be about anything, but it's not. It's about frivolous chitter chatter (that's not meant in a negative way) and throwaway threads. That's what it's for.
As a result, people post here if they don't have what it takes (whatever that may mean) to post regularly, respectfully and intelligently elsewhere.
