Gladiator (vs) Savage Hulk

Yes, that's what I was talking about. Maestro basically tells him that Hulks will always come back, no matter what.

Actually now that I look at the explosion scan closely, it looks like his skeleton was disintegrated, yet shows up Whole in the Crater scene.

Maybe the Gamma he'd absorbed previously allowed him to regenerate it first, or maybe it just pulled the bones together where they were scattered. But the bones were atomized it looks like to me. I'd always assumed because of teh Skeleton that it was just teh Flesh burnt off.

Ah well, some of my very old arguments (not on this forum) are retroactively a bit shakier, but now the Healing factor IS looking better.

That can be seen as narritive hyperbole, since it has far less proof backing it than Hulk's Strength.

I personally don't see it as such but I admit the possibility.

Nice scans Dalak, but what I don't understand, how did the gamma bomb do that to him, I thought radiation made him more powerful? Maybe it was the Force of the blast. How powerful was the Gamma Bomb? Savage Hulk has withstood nukes before.

No explosion afterward has matched teh first Gamma bomb built by Banner. And Hulk and Gamma have had a Love/Hate relationship for his entire existance. Sometimes it reverts him to banner, sometimes it makes him stronger, sometimes it makes him weaker, and this once it Killed him.

That was the Birth of the Hulk though, so maybe that's how the Hulk was formed in some sort of temporal loop. It was Doom's time machine after all, the one that lets you travel without forming an alternate dimension. Banner could have absorbed part of the essence of the Maestro along with the radiation and it triggered the changes in Banner which later became the Maestro and was reabsorbed . . . .

The bomb that went off recently in his face in the F4 was a smaller one and it triggered a reversion to the Savage persona. He's pushed back Gamma bombardments on at least 2 occasions, they reverted him from the Grey Hulk to Banner early in his 'life' and then triggered the Savage Hulk's emergence.

To put it simply: Gamma is complicated.

Whoa, whoa, did you really have to go all Twelve Monkees on us? 😄

So Maestro was there and triggered changes in banner so that he basically created himself by going back? But then who created Maestro before he got to trigger the changes in himself? Does history repeat itself over and over again? And if so, which came first?

I agree that it could be hyperbole. But really, if being blown up to bits isn't enough to kill Maestro......

I'm not half as bad as Banner v Banner . . . .

What........the.............hell........are........they...........talking.......about.

The time part doesn't have me confused, its the whole "Blowing his brains out"

ROFL, yeah, thats really gonna get the job done huh, or am i missing something here?

Just my thoughts on recent items in this thread.

1. The gamma bomb was powerful enough to flay the skin from Hulks body. Its just that strong. Still Hulk has that healing factor of such a level that he can come all the way back from being only bones.
2. The maestro defeated all the heroes that remained in his timeline. He's a manipulator and he's intelligent. To me, he's playing a bluffing game with the hulk. cause honestly. if you're just a skeleton, you're damn brain is gone. What the hell is a bullet in the head gonna do to you. He knows Hulk doesn't have the sense to see through his bluff. And he was never called on it either.

P.S. I loved the Hulk Series until they reached the Devil Hulk comic. At that point I stopped buying Hulk. I loved that Hulk finally reached "Professor Hulk" and then they did away with that character. Its like so many years of torture finally done away with for poor banner, and they just "retconned" it away.

Oh yah. And if its ANY hulk other than fixit? I see Hulk taking 6/7 outta ten. Gladiator is a superman knockoff. but he's still the knockoff. Hulk takes it.

It could be a super gun, it could be nothing and the Maestro knows it but Banner doesn't. It could be any number of things.

That's why the Maestro is so devastating. He's stronger than The Hulk and an evil genius as well.

Even still it wasn't his healing factor alone, he still needed Hulk to come back and absorb gamma radiation from him, which is why he kept calling hulk to return to him.......which honestly is kinda stupid if you think about it.

A 100+ megaton Super Gamma bomb goes off and your telling me gamma radiation isnt gonna blanket the area for years? 😕

I think it's a decent explantion for Hulk's absurd sense of direction.

You say that as if defeating Thor is a small task.
