Yes, there are some fanboys. But Sentry has few true fans.

Thor is the Super Man of the Marvel Universe. Hercules is like the Wonder Woman of the Marvel Universe. Sentry is like the Captain Marvel of the Marvel Universe. But just like Super is stronger than Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman. Thor is stronger than Hercules and Sentry. Although compared to the other two Sentry is realy new. I wish he had a longer history. Than maybe everyone wouldn't be so hostile towards him showing up. Then Bendis sais he's the most powerful hero of all and he puts other powerful heros (Thor, Silver Surfer, Hulk and Hercules come to mind at the moment) to shame.

I like sentry personally and I for one would like for him to become the power houses he was created to be

No. But people fear change and hate new faces, and they decided that if he didn't live up to his Galactus-stalemate hype, he's a jobber. Personally I feel like he's a better Superman clones than a lot of others (Gladiator, Apollo, etc.)

The fight still hasn't happened, and doesn't look to be on the horizon.

They haven't even been introduced to each other yet.

Give Sentry a break. If he had a magical hammer like Mjolnir and belt of strength and Odinforce, he would win!

I think Bendis confirmed it. Not sure how your logic works but its pretty obvious thats what happened. Bob didn't want to turn into the Void and Bob has the ability to reduce his power depending on how he felt. Bob made the Void weak enough for Thor to kill.
