I think you are just shocked to find two christians in the Religion forum. 😆

Dear debbiejo,

How can you live in a world like this and come to the brilliant deduction that the devil does not exist? That is precisely what he wants you to believe so that he can continue to wreck your life and then you'll blame God for it all. You call it an act of God, or God why did this happen to me? Why did you take so and so? Why, why, why,? Incredible. Even satanists, witches, warlocks, brujas, and the like have enough sense to know that the devil exists, they call on him regularly and they work for him.

Luke 10:17-18
17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”
18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Are you like a crazy person??? 😂

The Serpent and what we would call Satan are 2 different things...the king or prince of Tyre is that and only that.....Other stories are only mythology, just as Lucifer is...The morning star is only the planet Venus...etc..

The Jews don't believe in Satan. Satan is only a word that the church used as a scare tactic to get money from the people............The NT books were written around the Jewish Wars and everyone was called Satan if you weren't on their side.

Tell me why Moses never mention Hell??

debbiejo,

By chance where you a believer? If so, did something go terribly wrong that made you not only fall from the faith but become boldly accusing of it?

Yes, It's called research... 😖mart:

And I don't hate anybody, but I sure do hate to see other people manipulated and not even realizing it.

It is extremely embarrassing, that the very thing that you made fun of or doubted is the very thing that you are at the mercy of. You are helplessly at the mercy of something that you do not believe in. You are experiencing something that you don’t believe, accept, or want to believe in. This must be embarrassing because all of your life you were sure that everything had an empirical, scientific explanation. You were taught this by your college professors whom you trusted, and perhaps even admired. But what you are experiencing cannot be explained by science. What you are experiencing does not ask you for your consent or approval. You are going through an ordeal that no one else can save you from because it is personal, and you go through it alone. This is embarrassing because you are highly educated, respected, perhaps even rich and famous. But none of that matters now, and none of that is of any use to you now. You cannot take any of that with you to the place where you are about to go. There is a reality that you may not have ever known or experienced. Do you really think that it is intelligent to doubt the existence of something just because you cannot presently perceive it through any of your five senses? There are many things that exist that you cannot see, taste, touch, hear, or smell—and they are more real than those things that you can perceive through the senses. One day every person will go through this experience, but some will be afraid of where they are on their way to, and others will be full of joy on the way to their new destination.
There is a Heaven to gain, and a Hell to avoid: where are you going to spend eternity?
You only get one chance to make the right decision.
If you want to go to Hell, then do nothing, just keep on living your life until you die, and you will end up in Hell (a fiery, place where you will be tormented forever). God does not want you to go to this place of torment, so there is no reason to get upset about why this place exists in the first place. God does not want you to go to this place of torment, so there is no reason to get upset about why this place exists in the first place. God does not want you to go to this place of torment, so there is no reason to get upset about why this place exists in the first place.
In fact, hell was not even created for people; it was created for the devil and his angels (demons). But you see, if you don’t want to be on God’s team (figuratively speaking), then by default, you end up on the devil’s. Again, hear this: God does not want you to go to this place of torment so there is no reason to get upset about why this place exists in the first place. If you don’t believe that Heaven or Hell exist then re-read this article. Hell was not even created for people; it was created for the devil and his angels (demons). If you want to go to Heaven, then confess Jesus the Christ as your Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved. You will spend eternity in Heaven with God, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the angels, other people who have confessed Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and last but not least, you will be able to marvel at the animals and other amazing creatures that God has created. You will be able to marvel at the beautiful city that God created for you all who are saved from their sins. You will marvel at the beauty of paradise that exists all around you in Heaven. You will be at a loss for words at the many wonderful things, sights, smells, and other things that Heaven has. Not only is God there, but you personally will have a home there. Heaven is wonderful! But even more wonderful is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Who created all of this for you to enjoy. They will love you for eternity, and you will not be able to resist loving them for eternity. God is love, light, hope, compassion, comfort, and everything that you could want and need. God will be a Father to you and you will be His sons and/or daughters. God loves you!

I did not learn this by my college professors........I studied it out myself and it took many years.......I was raised Christian and was a very good one..........I am not an atheist. I do believe there is something much much grander than what the Bible or any other books teach.....

Luke 16:19-31

The Rich Man and Lazarus (a true account)

19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’
27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

John 5:43-47
43 I (Jesus the Christ) have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

The Rich Man and Lazarus (a true account)
Prove it is a true account...It's metaphorical....There are similar older stories in other mythologies.

You never told me where Moses talked about HELL for breaking the law...

Prove first to me that it is not. You see, whenever the Lord Jesus told a parable he never once used proper names of individuals. He was always very unspecific. In this account Jesus used three names: Abraham, Lazarus, and Moses. Debbiejo this is not a parable or mythology.

Proverbs 14:7
Go from the presence of a foolish man (or woman), When you do not perceive in him (or her) the lips of knowledge.

Jesus taught messages in stories. His messages were generally to be kind to one another.....And yes there is a Gehenna.

Gehenna was a well-known locality near Jerusalem, and ought no more to be translated Hell, than should Sodom or Gomorrah. See Josh. 15: 8; II Kings 17: 10; II Chron. 28: 3; Jer. 7: 31, 32; 19: 2.

Gehenna is never employed in the Old Testament to mean anything else than the place with which every Jew was familiar.

The word should have been left untranslated as it is in some versions, and it would not be misunderstood. It was not misunderstood by the Jews to whom Jesus addressed it

Dear Debbiejoe,

The Lord Jesus Christ is greater than Moses. You see, Moses wrote about Jesus and even talked to Him on the mountain where Christ was transfigured. But, Christ is God in human form, Moses is just a man. Christ Jesus talked about Hell and this is sufficient. I care more about what God says than what man (Moses) says. No disrespect to Moses, he had his place and mission. But God (Jesus Christ) is the Word made flesh. The Bible--the living, Word of God--says that God has spoken to us in these last days by His Son (Jesus).

Matthew 17:1-9
1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. 7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” 8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
9 Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”

Hebrews 1:1-3
1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Psalm 9:17
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.

Psalm 55:15
15 Let death seize them;
Let them go down alive into hell,
For wickedness is in their dwellings and among them.

Proverbs 27:20
20 Hell and Destruction are never full;
So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

Isaiah 14:9
9 “ Hell from beneath is excited about you,
To meet you at your coming;
It stirs up the dead for you,
All the chief ones of the earth;
It has raised up from their thrones
All the kings of the nations.

Mark 9:39, 43-48

39 But Jesus said…

43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 44 where

‘ Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.
45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 46 where

‘ Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.’

47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— 48 where

‘ Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.’

Jesus talked about Hell so I am satisfied and convinced that it is a literal place of torment.

p.s. now Jesus is speaking metaphorically. Jesus does not want you to cut off any part of your body. Can you see the difference?

Dear Debbiejoe,

Children need to hear the good news too. That Jesus loves them and wants them to spend eternity with Him.

Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Matthew 18:1-6
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.
6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
