How do you base a rip off though. The only thing people like this have alike is their powers, their completely different otherwise.

Super-speed and weather control are hardly mind-blowing, complicated powers that, if another another character even has something close to it, they'd be considered a rip-off no matter how different they are.

Actually, Superman was heavly inspired by the novel Gladiator .

Barely anything is completely original these days.
