The fool has said in his/her heart there is no God

Psalm 14:1
The fool has said in his heart,“There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

Anyone that truly wants to know if God exists can know but there is something that you must do first: you must--imperative necessity--humble yourself. This will probably eliminate 99 and 9/10 percent of those reading this thread. God will reveal Himself to you if you humble yourself before Him. Humility is not waiting for the chance to vent what you have to say at the first chance someone like me writes something like this. Humility starts with an attitude that concedes that you don't know it all or have all of the answers and that in God's eyes you are nothing. The simple fact of the matter is that God wants you all to know Him but it must be on His terms. You must humble yourself. Humble yourself before God, tell Him that you are sorry for your sins. Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins. Finally, ask Jesus Christ of Nazareth to save you, and wash away all of your sins in His precious blood. I know what I have written may not make sense to you right now, but you must take care of the sin issue. Your sins have separated you from God. Once you are born again the Holy Spirit live in your spirit and He will began to reveal the Father to you. The Holy Spirit living on the inside of you--in the inner man/woman--will bear witness with your spirit that you are now--after your sins are washed away--a child of God and the Bible is true. The things of God will began to make sense to you once you are saved.

Recap:

1) Humble your self before God.
2) Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins, and then ask Jesus Chrst of Nazareth to save you from your sins.
3)Pick up Bible and the Gospel According to John (this gospel account emphasizes the deity of Christ Jesus.

See, this makes me doubt the claim "God is all loving" and so on. How could someone possibly call a son or daughter abominable or corrupt? And they have done no good? How so, there are plenty of great atheistic humanitarians, atheistic humanitarians who do more then some people claiming to believe in God. Actions, they say speak louder then words, it seems unfair to condemn such a large group so out of hand.

1) Humble your self before God.

Once again, I find irrationality in this. There are preachers who seem to say "everything good you do, that is God at work." But then, when someone asks "what about the bad things" they say "this is the responsibility of man." To which I say - forget that - I will claim responsibility for the good and bad of my life. God has no right to that, I am responsible for my successes, and for my failures. Humble? When has God been humble? He is said to have created us in his image, that suggests to me we should be more equals.

2) Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins, and then ask Jesus Chrst of Nazareth to save you from your sins.

Much the same as above, and I prefer tangible proof.

3)Pick up Bible and the Gospel According to John (this gospel account emphasizes the deity of Christ Jesus.

You should mention the Roman council that officially declared Jesus a deity as well, if it wasn't for them John's gospel might have ended up on the cutting room floor with the others that didn't fit in.

This post was supposed to be included in the opening thread but I took too long writing it in the edit part so I have to repost it.

The Holy Spirit living on the inside of you--in the inner man/woman--will bear witness with your spirit that you are now--after your sins are washed away--a child of God and the Bible is true. The things of God will began to make sense to you once you are saved. I speak from experience. I did not alway understand the Bible or God. I would read the Bible as a youth but not know/understand what I was reading. I would even highlight the Scriptures (I still don't know why I did that). It was not until AFTER I got saved, after I did those things that I instructed you all to do that the things of God (i.e. God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the holy Bible) began to come together in my spirit (i.e., the real me), and soul (i.e., mind, will, emotions) and make sense (spiritual sense). I began to have an appetite for the Word of God. I would read the Word of God for hours every day until I read the entire Bible (I have done this more than once). I do not write for plaudits or praise of any kind from anyone. I want you all to know that I did not start out strong in the Word or in faith. I had to learn the Word of God consuming it like an infant. But I began to grow as I feasted daily on God's Word. It seemed like I couldn't get enough of the Word. If I was not reading the Word of God, then I was listening to it on the radio or watching it on tv. The point I am making is that I too doubted the veracity (truthfulness) of God's Word. Although I used to read it as a youth and highlight it, I was spiritually dead because of my sins. It was not until I got born again that the Word that I began that the pieces began to come together. Before I was saved I read a Scripture verse and think, "that doesn't make sense or why did God say that." I constantly asked many of the same questions that you all asked. I once told my friends that the Bible probably was written by a bunch of men who put hell in there as a scare tactic to coerce or scare people into believing it. But then one day I humbled myself before God. I admitted to God that I was a sinner. I did this against all human reason and logic. I went against the grain. I asked Jesus Christ of Nazareth--a Man whom I have never seen (He's actually more than just a mere Man. Jesus is God in human flesh---to wash away my sins in His precious, holy, sinless blood. To a person who is not saved it would seem that I had lost it. But afterwards I was a new creature in Christ Jesus. I NOW had the Spirit of Almighty God living on the inside of me bearing witness to my spirit that the Bible is no ordinary book. The Bible--the words--were given by inspiration of God (i.e. God-breathed). I did not perceive that until after my sins were washed away and the Holy Spirit moved on the inside of my spirit. I pray that my testimony inspires some of you to trust God and follow my example. It is worth more than anything that you could ever attain, achieve, acquire, or accomplish in this temporal life. You will be thanking God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for eternity.

4)Pray to God the Father in the Name of Jesus daily

Prayer is simply communicating or talking to God. You don't have to use thees and thous. God doesn't talk that way. Trust me God the Father is waiting to hear from you. He eagerly wants to manifest Himself to you.

I know that the enemy--satan aka. the devil--is going to attack this thread and its contents viciously because he is the one keeping you blind from the truth. I have no enemies on this forum but folks satan works through people. Just as God is working through me to share this with you know for certain that the devil has his people waiting for a chance to oppose everything that I have written. But God's will will prevail.

To God the Father and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ be the glory forevermore,

Jesus Is Alive! I chose this name for a reason. Can you guess why?

Because you're wrong?

4)Pray to God the Father in the Name of Jesus daily
And if you don't pray in Jesus' name???

John 14:13-14
And whatever you ask in My Name , that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My Name , I will do it.

Philippians 2:10-11 that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

There is no greater name in the universe than the Name of Jesus.

Seriously, I don't even want to have a religious discussion with you. At all.

There's got to be some way other than a flippant quip/question and a Bible verse that you can converse with us lowly ungodly peons, right?

Your idea of what god could be is very small....Don't forget that the church edited those scriptures for a purpose.......you can quote them all you want.........It won't change what I KNOW.

But what do you base your knowledge on? Knowledge is based on something (facts, etc.)

Experience mixed with knowledge....looking at all the possiblities and seeing for ones self.

Experience? What experience. You have not been to hell--yet--to affirm that it does not exist.

That's where someone needs to do a bit of reading and research....Hell is what you make it here and now......Not some place.

Hell is a literal place. Jesus talked about hell being a literal place.

Hmmm? Put those two together and think about them for a bit. And no, for the purposes of this discussion, Jesus saying something isn't 'proving' it. You can't prove it either way.

You can, however, show how the conception of hell, and even the idea of a Satan-figure opposite a svaior-figure, was in place long before Christianity, and how Christian conceptions of hell were heavily influenced by pagan underworld deities and the fear of death in general.

Personally, if hell exists, I'm pretty sure Pluto's down there by the river of forgetfulness waiting to chain my soul for eternity. That way, I'd at least get to chat with Odysseus and Orpheus and the like...it would be much more fun.

🙂

Why NOT? If you cant PROVE what you PREACH then you are NOT going to CONVINCE anyone to believe what youre saying.

I tend to agree. I actually think it is asking alot, JesusisAlive, to expect people to believe in something with no proof. Quoting the bible is not proof - I could quote any number of holy texts from the Egyptians up to modern day cults. This is especially relevant when the bible is covered in the finger prints of man - a big chunk of it belongs to another religion that is at odds at times with Christianity, and in the rest there is stuff that is outdated, or downright right in the attitudes it presents.

Actions speak louder then words. The is a lot of proof that humans are responsible for themselves and the isn't some big other drifting about making up arbitrary rules. On the other hand I can't think of a single bit of evidence to support that drifting other.

Why is it so unreasonable to ask for something, anything, to actually prove such claims?

Acts 9:22
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Thes. 5:21
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

All things should be proved. Saul proved Christ, are you better that you don't need to?

If a person wants to do this by using scripture then there is the verses..."God helps them who helps themselves", "Faith alone is dead in it's self", "come let us reason together".................REASON? What, we should think??? Yes the scriptures have been edited by the church.

Adam and Eve thought for themselves.........Ponder that.

Martin Luther was once quoted as saying: "You enter the kingdom through faith alone. But if faith is truly alone, it is not faith."

Paraphrased, but you get the idea. It requires more. Luther was referring here to the idea that with faith came good works, which are more advocated in some Christian sects than some when considering 'entry into heaven'. He also referred more than once to the use of reason in conjunction with the all-important faith. He certainly didn't advocate brainwashing via web-cartoons.

And if we are to interpret the spirit of the message as well, it implies that there is much more to religion than just our blind faith. And to have that alone is to be incomplete, either as a Christian or simply as a human being.

You don't seem to have any idea how to talk with us JesusisAlive....it would be interesting to see the surroundings in which you live and how you attempt to interact with the world around you. Either it's a very insulated community, or you have a horrible time of it.

But mostly, I'm just hoping (praying? lol) that you never get into public office somewhere or enter into a position of power....I get enough religion stuffed down my throat by the current politicians and people in my life, and would probably have to deport myself if I had to endure anymore.
