A) *Opposed.
B) Not at all. I'm not waiting for them to earn mine, I'm just saying it has to be earned for me to give it. I'm not sitting here waiting, hoping they earn it.
Even if I liked them all, chances are they'd not get my respect for saying "Yes I'll be a 'moderator' on an internet forum.". To me, it's not something that is worthy of respect. Especially when you use said "power" in a way that is really quite foolish.

welcome back 🙂
Originally posted by Alpha CentauriI don't want to be social with you. I don't like you, I find you juvenile, biased and hypocritical. I'm social with people here that I wish to be social with. I'm not obligated to be social with you. Not everyone here hates me, so I'm not about to change to be social with people I could care less about. Stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours, that seems fair to me. The difference is, whenever you see something involving me that you are irritated by, with or without reason, you get involved, because you're a mod.
Don't speak of being juvenile when you simply had to reply to someone asking me a question that I'd already answered, purely because you just couldn't fight the urge to reply.-AC
Right there in red is exactly what I'm talkin about your juvenile attitude. I'll put it clearly once and for all:
You cause trouble, harrass, bash, flame, or incite any kind of fight..."I" or other moderators will be there to put a STOP to it.

For one thing, that's not juvenile. That's me being honest with a view to stopping this kind of bs happening in the future between you and I, two people who clearly aren't fond of each other. The difference is, I admit it.
Second, how can you honestly talk of childish behaviour and then alter a quote of mine to suit yourself? You're being a hypocrite. Either reply to me completely or don't reply to me at all.
And I am going about my business. I was before you arrived, I shall continue to while you're here and after you leave.

It doesn't, actually.

No, sorry, respect doesn't come with positions. Respect is always earned. That you chose to give it away readily to anyone who has power is your decision.
And, my friend, that is what we are doing, while you in a severely childish manner even refuse to investigate the matter.

im not sure, but what i think eclipso means is that you should have respect for mods, not necessarily give them respect. It's like, as soon as someone becomes president, they have your respect. They are respectable. However, what they need to earn is for you to give them respect, as in, want to vote them back in. Am i making any sense?
The fact remains he chooses to handle his quarms with the mods by being rude, disrespectful and immature way. No wonder the mods react to him the way they do.
And yes many positions come with the understanding of respect, Police, Teachers, your boss at work.
You may not like them, you may have issues with them but you have to speak to them in a polite and respectful manner or there is a penalty.

I'm pretty sure he does mean they deserve our respect by default, and no, someone isn't respectable just because they are the president, are they?

What is the different between having and giving respect (like actually)?
And that is nonsense, I don't have respect for the president because he is the president. I either do have respect or I don't, it won't change with their position, just with their behaviour.
No, sorry, you hardly make sense. Those two are not different things.

No, he was neither rude, immature nor disrespectful when he got banned, which you would know if you had read what happened.
No, they don't. Maybe with fear of their power, not with respect by default.

The fact remains that no matter how much evidence to the contrary we provide you with, you will continue to remain firmly planted within the collective rectum of the moderators.

I don't respect anyone just because they choose to do something like be a policeman, be a teacher and happen to be someone's "boss". I respect someone who takes up each of those roles and puts aside any personal agenda to get the job done because they realise they took a job. The mods don't do this, so I don't respect them.
I respect a waiter who, despite having the worst day of his life, still makes every effort to make sure my meal is fine and that everything is to my liking, because he realises he took a job. I don't respect a waiter who has a shitty day and feels I have to be sympathetic and grateful that he showed up at work.
I understand if that analogy is over your head.
