Here is the 2nd paragraph (right after intro) of the wikipedia listing for radio station Star94 in Atlanta. This really sounds like it hits the main focal points of its 45-year existence, doesn't it?? 🙄
In keeping with this more pop and rock based top 40, Star often edits rap songs out of nationally syndicated programs such as American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest (they also edited out rap songs during Casey Kasem's reign.) Star has even gone so far as edit out the #1 songs in these broadcasts: for example, in 1994, Star edited "Another Night" by Real McCoy, a dance/rap song, out of Casey's Top 40 when it was airing. As said above, Star has recently added some R&B/Hip-Hop songs to their playlist, but they continue to edit out hardcore rap songs from ever airing.
