internet badass calloutthis one is classic. when proven to be completely false, a wounded member may imply their opponent is being an internet 'badass' or 'tough guy' when no implication of violence, threats, or any physical imposing is made, and no insults or name calling have occured. simple process, really:
member 1: *presents moot point*
member 2: *refutes point utterly*
member 1: *becomes enraged and consumes the thread with accusations of internet badassery*
though many legitemate claims of anonymous internet badassery are made, i notice that its also often claimed baselessly by certain members. the revealing element is their obvious disdain for other members and ready willingness to bring violence into the topic.
"you wouldnt dare say that to my face". sometimes appropriate when one is trolling and harassing, since their motive is clearly to provoke...but its constantly used in situations where no threats or direct character attacks are made. so the implication would be that these individuals wish to do violence to those who prove them factually false or illogical...or why else bring up the issue/label? indeed a classic and very revealing hypocrisy.
I have done that before on a video game site.
This one dude kept harassing me for no reason. I told him that he wouldn't say those things to my face and that he uses the internet to get at people to make himself feel tough. He was a true internet badass because he finally posted a pick and he was 6'2" and like 140 lbs.

thats funny, but the issue is with unwarranted claims. use of the label for the win in a debate, as opposed to reacting to a stalker troll.
