It's alright Forumcrew, I ****ed you over too.

For your question.

I would choose LT, LJ, Gore, and then S.Jackson. I'm never taking an QB in the first round, or even second. I rather have two RB's than QB anyday. Look at what happened to me last year in KMC league last year, I got McNabb in the 6th or something crazy like that and he turned out to be one of the best producers for the first 6 games (until he busted his leg, knee or achilles). QB's are important but I think you can find an bargain 3-4 rounds later.

Agreed. RB in the first, though I'd probably splurge for Manning if I had an early pick in Round 2 (depends on the RBs left at that point). After that, it's waiting until at least Round 4-5 for a QB.

And no love for Alexander? Gore's just as much of an injury risk and LJ might be platooning with Priest.

Awesome. I hope you draft in the #2 slot.

👆

Meh, I dont know. Alexander is around that age on where he is still productive and a very good back, but not what he was. I think the record year is his last amazing year.

This is all from an fantasy point of view. I would still love to have him.

Gore, on the other hand, young, and playing for an up and coming team. He could be one of the best backs in the league this year. But if I had second overall, I would choose Jackson. 1500 yards, 16 TD's. Those are pretty damn good numbers.

We should start finding out when people can do the draft and if anybody else is going to join.

Lemme guess...

1- Reggie Bush
2- Matt Leinart
3- Dwayne Jarrett
4- Lendale White
5- Mike Williams
6- Steve Smith
7- Pacman Jones
8- USC's Team Defense

Good luck!

Bush and Owens are on the top of my list.

I got to the championship and made the playoffs in 4 out of 5 of my leagues last season with the same draft plan. I'm not going to change it.

Can everyone either either post your E-mail here or PM it to me please.

OK so what I did was reactivate the league from last year. I am gonna post the list of team names, tell me which one was yours so I can just click to re-invite you back to your team. And then I will just invite the new people.

James Jordan Tyrannical Terrors
Jason Jackson Team Jackson
Chris Almand Cornbread Mangler
Jose Lopez BackYard Goons

Mark Wilson Fluffy Puppies (this is digi i believe)
Dan Zeke Team Zeke (this is obviously danzeke's)

*edit I actually think that now that I reactivated the leauge if you had a team last year your automaticly back in it. Someone go check for me and let me know. Also still tell me which team is yours so i can delete the few owners who will not be back. I already got one I know for sure is gone. I think teh backyard goons was the other deadbeat.

Mine is Team Jackson. I wish I could change the name though....

Fluffy Pups was Digi, and Cornbread Mangler was Botankus.

EDIT

Changed my name to the Ottawa Deadbeats. I'm not very creative at all.

cool so do we know who tyrannical terrors was?

That was Buzzkiller, if I'm not mistaken.

That was really strange actually, he was an newcomer last year, and he was at the draft and talked alot about the NFL, but right after fantasy started, he completely disappeared. Looking at his profile, he went online 5 days ago, but he hasnt posted since last Sept.

You never know, he could be died.

Yeah, I hate when people are died.

yea man one day someone tried to die me I was like oh no!

Hehe, the Fluffy Puppies. My team names this year so far are "Grapes of Wrath" and "Buck-Naked Bruisers."

Oh **** me........

I cant believe I ****ing said died........

Ah well, I'm still going to kick all your asses...well aside from Zeke.

After researching a bunch of random player projections, I'm not entirely sure I wouldn't pick Manning in round 1. Yeah, you're behind at RB...but there's over 100 points in dropoff in the projected fantasy points even for many Round 1 backs like Westbrook, Addai, Rudi, Alexander, etc. The next 2 picks would have to be RB obviously, but I'm not so sure it's a bad idea.

Anyway, I have 3 not-for-money drafts this year. I think I'll play around with various draft strategies and such, especially since my for-money one is the last of the bunch. Nothing stupid, just different philosophies approaching the draft.

Yeah, I wouldnt take Manning at all in the first, unless I'm the last guy in an 16 person draft, then I might reconsider.

But in a 8 person draft, **** that.

I dunno. My whole thing is, I'm an active manager, so in most leagues I'll find my share of waiver-wire studs with good matchups. To that end, why not simply try for as many top-tier players as I can find, and trust that I'll be able to shore up my depth issues via waivers and trades? It would open the door for some crazy draft-strategies, most of which would involve drafting positions earlier than normal (for example: Bears D in the 4th-5th-6th round), but could potentially pay off.

Don't get me wrong....if I go Manning in Round 1, rounds 2-3 are RBs with no exceptions. I'm just not sure it would doom me.

You're right about 8-team leagues though. No sense in it when everyone will have good QBs. There would need to be at least 12 teams for me to take him, but I might start considering him as early as 8 or 9 in that format.

I believe I took Manning first, and look what happened to me.

What did happen to you? I forget.

Also, I drafted Manning first a couple years ago, and was ok (went on to win the league, in my first ever fantasy league, no less)....then again, I traded him midseason for Alexander just before he went on his MVP tear in the second half. So I guess it doesn't fully count.

I won.

Still wouldnt take Manning in the first round.
