To everyone: there's no rush. I'm guessing we won't draft until maybe mid-August. So don't worry about signing up right away. It's good to prepare, but we don't need to fret about getting on it this second.

A friend of mine thinks fantasy is a farce because an auto-draft can pick the league's best team. We almost had it happen in one of my other leagues too.
Auto-draft will pick a competent team, no doubt. Maybe you'll get lucky and have one of the best teams. But any auto-draft is subject to various errors. For one, most fill all of your starter slots before drafting backups. That mean drafting a defense and kicker before, say, your 3rd RB. Suicide. And most sites' draft lists are not updated frequently, meaning that the RB who just got traded during preseason to a platoon situation is still a 2nd-rounder, or a QB who goes down the 3rd week of preseason with a 8-10 week injury is being drafted in round 5. Or other similar scenarios.
Auto-draft if you must. Be there if you can though.

if you pre-rank its not soooo bad but still you never know whats gonna happen in the draft.
Slaton definitely has a good path to a lot of carries. Green is a walking injury and take the week 1 game away from Brown last year and he was pretty terrible. A lot of the others like Felix, stewart, mendenhall, johnson etc all have more capable guys on the roster already to overtake.

Well, pre-ranking is a form of "being there" so yeah. Besides, it just feels better to have your own team that you picked. They play harder than those auto-draft losers.

Other news: I have a friend who lost our league last year because of Brian Westbrook's 1 yard line kneel-down. Awesome stuff. He's vowed this year only to draft "thugs" who won't do that kind of intelligent crap that will help the team, but are only looking out for themselves. Funny stuff. Basically the Raiders starting O, Randy Moss, and a few others.
