Are there any rational reasons for this.
Is there a rational reason to believe in heaven and hell?
how the hell can you say there is hell and heaven, and on top of that, how the hell can you think that you know what will be up there.
On the line of rational thinking, the concept of heaven and hell is totally irrational compared to my belief.

But what proof do you have that there isn't or is a hell?
I dont know, for all we know when we die we could be raped by chickens, or something equally as crazy.
The posibilties are endless.
The concept of hell is equally as mad.
If you want to go down the rational path, my belief is a much more valid concept than heaven and hell
People rely on religion because what one does not understand is what one fears. Religion is a source of comfort to these questions, and people are so afraid of what the answer might be that they eventually believe anything.
When people get scared at life they turn to religion because they are afraid of what the answer might be.

well, is that small chance to be placed on an equal footing with the large chance that there isnt one.It like syaing...welll..there COULD be a kitten in my pocket at any given point, but I'll never really know.
Somethings have such a low proability that you can treat it like the probability = 0
even if the probability is 1 in a billion, the probability is still there.
You have no right so say for sure that there is no god. No one is in a position to say that they know.
yeah...but to most people 1 does not equal 1 billion.
God is a totaly irrational concept that is hammered into many people heads from a young age. I think there is a very low probability that, if a child today had no contact with religion, that he would magically say "oh, there must be a super-powerful being controlling everything."
Just because society has endoresed an insane concept doesn't make it any more logical or credible.
In the most absolute terms I can't know if there is a god ore not, but there currently might be a 20 foot long cougar in the next room. If you are denied the ability to look, you CANT deny the possibility that a 20 foot long cougar just MIGHT be in the next room.
But given ther extreme absurdity of the claim, and the complete lack of evidence (sounds, clawing, etc), you cna say with a great deal of certainty....there is no 20 foot long cougar in the next room.
Oh...and don't tell me what rights I have.
