Sometimes it seems like GLs have trouble with very physical brawler/Brick type characters when it comes to taking them head on.

Gladiator is one of those types of characters, so I could see him possibly pulling a slight majority but I wouldn't underestimate Hal either.

Gladiator wins this fight relatively easily imo... Gladiator although written inconsistantly he's kind of a combo of Superman and Black Adam without the (SHAZAM) of course. Writen correctly he should literally pull Hal's heart out 10/10

Hal wins. More than powerful enough to take the win, and unlike Gladiator doesn't suffer from horrible inconsistency.

No, he really isn't.

"Confidence" vs "Willpower"

Hal has done some incredible things and not all of them have relied strictly on his powers.

He seems to be a character that is consistently written to be a "winner".

Even if Gladiator was overpowering Hal, he would pull out the win.

Not like in a combined total power kind of thing but, like in the fact that Gladiator is arguably the equal to Superman in almost every tool, as well as to having a BA like attitude while in battle kind of thing.
