Elijah MK III
Nihilistic Existentialist
"I thought you'd say that. I wouldn't expect anything less from a Spartan. I see you're operating as the sniper--here, every sniper I've had on my team insists on carrying one of these--" the Colonel unslung one of the combat knives she carried, and handed it with the sheath to the young Spartan. They returned to the others.
"Also, our weapons specialist assembled some modified gear for us specifically to use against the Covenant. I think it would work better in your hands, and we'll stick with what we're used to against the rebels." Colonel "Doe" motioned to the biggest of her team, who began to open a crate they had unloaded from the Pelican.
"Dese 'ere ah MA2C, modifie' wit smooth barrel an' loaded wit fletchette round. Five fletchette per round," the man began to explain in a heavy "Island" accent. "Dey a lot louder dan usual, but dey also better agains' light armor an' shields, an' not gonna damage de ship as much if you miss. Not dat I tink you gonna miss at all. I put dem in 75 round clips rater dan jus' 60, so you got a lot mo' firepower at de same weight. It perfec' for fightin' in a ship. I only brought 4, so you gonna have to share dem. Make sure you don' try an' swap de ammo out wit anoter gun--it not gonna work. Hey, let me know what you tink after we done, eh?"
Meanwhile, the rest of Blue Team had checked over their weapons and assembled their own gear. The Colonel quickly conferred with her team via closed audio transmissions, and they synced their data.
"Spartans, we're going to disappear for a bit, until we're through with those rebels. You might or might not be able to reach me on the comm, depending--but until we're through with those rebels, we don't exist. Blue Team, let's go dark and implement plan Alpha."
The first thing that happened is that Blue Team vanished from the tactical displays. Then the Colonel simply wasn't there, and within a few seconds, the rest of Blue Team had slipped into the shadows without a sound. An occasional flicker of movement could be seen by a keen observer, heading for one of the hangar's entrances to the rest of the Choragus.
