((For instance, here's some OOC stuff. Now watch as I accompany it with some IC stuff: ))
"I didn't believe you when you said this place has the best chow mein in the galaxy, but you're right. I really do think I could get used to living here on Coral," Ramona Lucente said, between bites.
She and Col. Julie Yi were eating lunch at a tiny Chinese restaurant on the inner colony world Coral.
"Coral has the best of a lot of things. Factories can't make things as well as skilled artisans, and most of the time factory products aren't even cheaper. I'm glad you like it here, but I can't, of course, guarantee that you'll get the position. It's not entirely up to me," Yi said by way of reply.
Lucente seemed about to say something, but a new voice cut her off as Tor Banken poked his head around the corner, out of breath.
"The flight leaves in an hour, they're getting the MJOLNIR soon and the schedule is accelerated and. . ."
"MJOLNIR? You work with the Spartans? I thought they already had their armor," commented Lucente. Banken looked around the corner, seeing who Yi was eating with, and fell silent. He'd given away dangerous information to someone they didn't trust yet.
"Tor, can you get us one more ticket?" asked Yi.
"Sure, it shouldn't be a problem."
To Ramona Lucente, Yi said, "On Blue Team, we often run across highly classified information. Sometimes we have to act on it unofficially. That's usually more important than your combat skills. Show me that you can do both and you're in."
Lucente paused as she connected the dots. "Is my GO bag enough, or do I need other stuff?"
"Take your GO bag and meet us here at 1500 hours. We shouldn't be gone for more than four days."
After Lucente had left, Yi left enough money to cover the bill plus tip, and started out the door, Banken following.
((It doesn't have to be this much IC stuff, of course, but hopefully you get the point.))
