Halo: Spartan III

Jacob was at the field now. This was probably the first and only time he led anything unto a field. Sure he met take point on a mission or two but taking the initiative to do something wasn't his thing. He would have rather just sat in the gym and waited for someone else to tell them what to do.

Jacob turned around realizing just how many Spartans had followed him out. There were a good number of the regulars like Abbra and Lawerence and a lot of the other people Jacob didn't hang aound with. To tell you the truth Jacob almost didn't know what to say to everyone.

Then Jacob let a slight smile sweep across his face. Just like some of them have probably never heard him talk this was probably the first time some of the Spartans had ever seen Jacob smile.

That is one good thing about Axel's little temper tantrum. It reminded Jacob of what was more important then battles and trying to be cold on the outside. This whole concept everything Jacob prayed for God to keep safe was right in front of him. It was family filled with brothers and sisters Jacob would give his blood sweat and tears. No not just those family he would trade in his life and soul for.

Jacob looked around to the back hoping Axel and Rae and some others would catch up anddecide to join in.

Jacob quickly saw Abbra and Lawerence next to eachother. Jacob knew Abbra wanted Lawerence on her team. Jacob decided though they would have much more fun lining up and playing against eachother. abbra could then put Lawerence on his back which Jacob knew is what she really wanted.

Jacob walked over to them and tossing the football at Lawernce to catch he said aloud to everyone, "Abbra and Lawerence you guys pick teams alright." Jacob gave Abbra a little wink as he walked by returning to his rightful spot in the crowd.

"I thought you were ...never mind." Her voice was so sweet it sounded strawberry flavored. "Oh - sorry." She laced her fingers together, and began picking at her nails with nervous worry. She hadn't meant to hurt him. She could feel her face flushed a rosy pink with embarrassment.

"What?" She asked, sounding slightly amused by his statement. Immediately she moved on to another topic of conversation. "If your sore, I guess you won't be playing foot ball will you?"

Rayden said nothing but stood at the back of the crowd of Spartans. He was at least five inches taller then every Spartan there. He had a permanent scowl on his face due to the fact that he was currently bald.

Rayden felt a sour taste in his mouth. He had fought hard to keep them from cutting off his 'fro, and he might have succeeded were it not for the Tranquilizer dart in the ass. he hadn't seen that coming...

"OK, be right there Jacob!" Abbra glanced over her shoulder, the field seemed so big, and it was almost as if every Spartan had decided to join in. Affinity and fondness for foot ball alright. It ran through every single one of their veins most likely. Her eyes locked with James, "Gotta run for now, we'll talk later." She patted his leg encouragingly, hoping for a fast recovery.

"Wait-" She muttered, jogging away. "Jacob, you little bugger! I wanted him on my team!" Her tongue parted her lips as she blew a raspberry at him. Catching a wink she decided it was not a dig, but more or less to spice things up. Still though, it was a little bit of a pain in the ass to challenge somebody you didn't want to. "But fine, I'll abide by those rules. Ladies first right?"

She looked over the crowd, not knowing who to select among the many teenagers in front of her. Although after a quick second of thinking, the first person of her selection was one she knew she had to have. "Tony." She said simply, arching an eyebrow at Lawrence in a pre-game competitive stare.

Green smiled at his words. "Yeah.. They said they were shocked that I survived through that.." His smile to a frown as he faced the girl.

James found himself frowning slightly. "I thought you might have.. Died also.." He looked up again, meeting her eyes. "I thought I died.. Say.. Before.. I woke up.. Were you praying for me..?" He looked oddly at her.

[Late post.. -.-]

Lawrence gladly returned the favour to Abbra, mock scowling at her across the slight distance then shrugging at her regretfully. He really would have liked her on his team but this gave him a chance to test how strong she really was. After all, with friendships come competition and this was certainly no exception.

"Tony." she said. The stocky Italian shrugged and joined her.

Damn, she got some strength on her side. But he needed accuracy. "Parker." he said.

He hid a smile as Abbra shot a half-sulky, half-annoyed look at him.

Her shoulders slumped momentarily as well, true, she was very disappointed. At least she could show him what she was really made of through competition. Abbra knew she wasn't a weak link, and she wanted everybody to know that too, even the ones she hadn't talked to yet. She was stiff competition for most of the lot, and she was proud of it.

Great, he took Parker. Under most circumstances she wouldn't have minded at all. But his passes were always so pristine and well executed, it was a major blow to her confidence. "Umm.." Abbra scanned through the crowd, she needed somebody to counter the latest shattering blow to her hopes of a next to Godly team. "Wise, come on down."

ooc: ignore this post.
it was a double.

James eyed Abbra, wondering how she felt about him. I don't think she nearly crushed the other Spartans like she did me.. He shrugged the thought off and focused on what the situation was. "Don't let them bring you down, Abbra!" He shouted for no apparant reason.

(What, you're on the geezer computer? 😛 )

Hmmm. Lawrence thought. He had the speed even if he was reluctant to run, and he had Parker, whose accuracy with the BR-55 on the shooting range was unparalleled. He needed size now, someone with strength that could rush Tony.

"Rayden, get over here." he said. The tall taciturn Spartan glanced, shrugged, and stood by Parker. The two knocked fists together and nodded. "Watch Wise, he's a slippery one."
He rather enjoyed the look of slight dismay on Wise's face.

"I can shove him around, huh?" Rayden said, smiling slightly.

Lawrence snorted. "That's what pass blocking is, remember?."

Marie looked around, noticing everyone had gone outside. "Oh, I do not want to miss this" She said, patting Raevynn. She stood attention and saluted Raevynn "116" She said with a bow, before running trough the gym, towards the exit of the building. She halted by the door to the field, watching as they were picking team. She was not quite sure if she wanted to go out there. Not sure if she were an appreciated member of a football team. Besides, she did not even know the roles.

She hesitated for a moment, but eventually she grabbed the courage and will to run down to the rest of the squad "Can I play?" She shouted, half way there and waving with her arm. Hopefully they would accept her, but she was ready to face either choice that they made. She stopped by the field, not entering it. She wanted to wait for any possible response that they would give her, before she made a total fool out of herself and expecting to be accepted.

She watched as they picked teams. They seemed like they had known eachother for ages, which they had. She herself arrived just a few days ago, starting it up by threatening a squad member. A squad member that got pretty bad beaten up, which made the team pitty him even more for her disrespectfull behaviour. She shrugged, as it was all in the past. Hopefully, the majority had forgot about this now and she could start of on a new round. She was indeed a kind person, once you got to know her.

David heard about the planned game, and decided to go have a look at it.. He had no intentions of joining up, but he came to the door that lead to the field.. He stopped by it, looking around outside where the field was located, and sat down on one of the benches, quietly.. That had always been him.. In the background, untill he recieved order from officers to do otherwise.. That's the reason few noticed him in the group.. The squad leader barely recognized him, even though he'd been in the group for some time.. He knew how to act, to not being noticed very much.. He noticed how they devided groups, and this would be the perfect thing for him to observe.. Since he was partly a tactical spartan, seeing how the members worked would be excellent training for him..

When Parker heard his named he made his way over and kicked a little dirt around. He couldn't wait for the game to start. His team has speed, accuracy, size and strength, now it just needed smarts. I'm guessing Lawrence made up for that.

Now all that was needed was to start the game.

"Fight the power!" Abbra yelled back to James, the faintest giggle to her voice. She presumed he was telling her to keep a cool head, and think over her selections. To be frank, Abbra was one to get hasty, even with all the thought she invested into things. It wasn't that she was impatient, but over eager.

Damn, Rayden too. That sneaky bugger, she was going to have a hard time regrouping from that blow. So far she had strength, Tony. Speed and grace with Wise and strategy with herself. Hopefully Jacob had as well executed passes as she was wished for. "Jacob." She said, beckoning him over. Already picking out her next choice. Abbra didn't want to lose this game. Especially against Lawrence.

[Not with James watchng. xDD]

James smiled as she replied to his comment, lifting a leg over another as he relaxed in his position. I wonder how she feels about me.. He thought to himself, his head lowered somewhat. Since we are spartans though.. We really shouldn't develop feelings for each other.. Mother used to say feelings got in the way of work.. He sighed, looking up.

"Abbra!" He shouted out to her. "Win this and I'll buy you lunch!" He smiled goofily, giving a thumbs up to her from across the field.

He noticed Abbra attempting to stare him down with what she thought was a Poker face. Lawrence smiled sweetly at her. Who else was left to pick?

He cast a furtive glance around. His team didn't have a lady yet, so...

"Marie." he called to the calm girl.

At fist, Marie did not think about her named being called on. She did not expect it. After a few moments, she raised her head and her face lit up with a smile. "Here!" She waved with her arm high, running out on the field. Unbelievable enough, they picked her into the group. She was not sure about what to say and some words just stumbled out of her mouth "113, reporting for game!" She said, saluting Lawrence.

Parker sighed and crossed his arms, obviously bored and eager to start the game. "Can we please just start this now? I think we have enough players. Besides," He hid a grin "I need to kick some major pay-back ass." He kept his eyes on the other team. Lots of strength there but not the most perfect on accuracy. That's where he came in for his team. Though he wasn't strong enough to charge into the fray, his team made almost every pass he threw.

He looked around at his teammates, slightly proud and apprehensive at the same time. Hopefully even with their bioaugmentations, none of them would be able to seriously hurt one another, at least at a simple little football game.

"We're four on four," Lawrence said. "I think that should be enough. Abbra, let's rock paper scissors for first kickoff, best two out of three."

Jacob walked over to Abbra. It felt good to get picked up by her. Jacob saw some other Spartans wanting to play hoping that Lawernce and Abbra didn't leave them out.

Jacob was happy with their team. They had the fastest kid in Wise and Jacob could get the ball to him every play as long as he outran everyone. This was avery good team.

(OOC) BY THE WAY GUYS. People are forgetting exactly what Jacob's unique ability is. He has amazing eyes as in he sees farther and clearer and sharper then anyother Spartan in the program. His eyes allow him to see targets faster and view things quicker that is why he is offically the best Sniper in the program with the best records. 😂
