Can Sith become ghosts like the Jedi can?

Meaning like Obi Wan, Yoda, and Ben were?

yes

And can they guide and instruct other Sith? Like did Palpatine ever talk to them?

Yes.

Palpatine talked to Sith Spirits in DE.

And Exar Kun talked to the spirit of Freedon Nadd during TOTJ.

Generally Sith spirits need to anchor their soul with an object,a place or by their own hatred...however, it's far different than the Jedi force ghost

Yeah. The Sith Lords on Korriban required anchors (their tombs) to survive.

But the most uber of the Sith - Kun and Palpatine - could do so at their own will.

Yeah, and don't listen to SS, he says the opposite while at the same time contradicting himself

Actually Kun used the Massassi Temple

Hey! Forgot all about that.

Yeah, the Sith ghosts are very different. And...they can be destroyed as well.

No, the idea was explained in ROTS(or Novel) I believe(canon)!
Non-canon>>>
They can however become a soulless entity drifting in nothingness, they need something physical(as materialistic as the Sith are) to attach to to become an identity again, something that is fueled by the DarkSide.
The tombs on Korriban are a good explanation.

Palpatine> Hardly. He had to possess another body.

My opinion: Siths are not spirits, they incarnate to their followers in conscience and will. Hatred is also a characteristic that does not describe a sith. They are people with different views and nothing more.

it is important to point out that in the film universe, this is a great big no- on the grounds that George Lucas outright said that no-one has ever returned from death before the events of the films.

This, of course, created a bit of a continuity mess for the EU.

Man, does this mean that much of TATJ is not canon?

Hey, moron.

We're talking about spirits here. Sidious didn't have a specific anchor. But if he wanted to control teh galaxy, he required a body.

everybody required a specific anchor if they hoped to achieve something as spirits.

Yeah...the Sith spirits ruin things. Shouldn't have been made...

Mankind has the tendency of assuming too much...more like a blind rage ignoring the fact of different things. If the Jedi have spirits so must the Sith. Things don't last forever because they connect to each other. Gathering information is different to associate things.
