I read somewhere that the thinking on time travel is such: -

If it is ever made possible, the visitor would only be able to watch and not interact with said past. Sort of like watching a TV programme.

Also we could travel to the future by travelling away from Earth at even a fraction of the SOL. The man in the ship would age significantly slower than those on earth and on his return several hundred years would have past. Not really travelling into the future that one though cus its only a matter of time perspectives. Plus you can't get back.
