I really think this is a silly question. He's sexually and emotionally attracted to the same sex in every way, therefore he's gay.

A young man in the United States discovers to his horror that he's attracted to men. Knowing that 95% of the nation believes in a God of some sort, with all of the leaders of their respective faiths claiming that gay marraige is 'against God,' would he knowingly choose to be gay just so he could get buttsex?
