Exactly. Look at Apollo, for example. It's like he hasn't been able to move his bowels for weeks, and is just retaining mass until the point where he looks about to explode.

Quitely's one of those artists who people either love or hate. Both responses are equally valid. I'm a big fan, mostly because of the "Flex Mentallo" mini, but he's one of those artists that you either love off the bat or they'll never do it for you.

I personally feel that his art style fits the A/S Superman series in particular, wonderfully -- but that same artistic point of view simply does not work every time Quitely's on a project, imo.

Personally, if I could get Phil Jimenez to draw every comic I read, you'd hear no complaints from me. Any artist mostly just has one style...but what a great style to be stuck with. He's working on ASM occasionally (and solely with Marvel these days 🙁 ), which makes it hard because I gave up Spidey about a month ago and PJ is making it hard to completely stay away. Quitely, on the other hand, I avoid like the plague. It's like Frank Millar's writing....maybe good for a laugh, and hasn't always been bad, but I wouldn't consider buying it now.

Digi, you're seriously missing out if you're avoiding AS Superman just because of the art(which, as Galan said, seems to really fit the 'feel' of the book).
It's easily one of the best Superman stories ever told.

Not really a fan of Supes, never followed the AS universe, and I don't like Quitely...so it's not just any one thing. I'm frankly just not interested in picking up the series for other reasons as well...if it was just art, and I was interested otherwise, I'd probably still buy it. But meh.
