...just seems like saying the IG lacks imagination. Sure, objectively speaking I suppose I'd have to pick it too, only because I could create any of the lesser items. It's just...well...obvious I guess. Picking the "normal" items says something about us at least.
Also, wasn't it impotent outside of the MU? Most other items don't have that weakness, as I could presumably use a GL in this universe too, and wouldn't be subjected to just Marvel.
okay if the IG is impotent in other universes, and so would be in ours. isnt there a slim chance given out connection to the marvel universe, as in us creating it and being the ones to write its future that it could possible take on the role of being able to alter the Marvel U? as in you yourself could in fact change the reality/plot/character development/relationships and what not of marvel comics. giving yourself complete creative control. be it total change or gentle nudges in a storyline.. like making ultimates 3 suck less. a true tool of the geek.
still im all for the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak.
id be the juggernaut, id take countries and do whatever.

Having the Crimson Gem of Cytorrak would definitely be a lot of fun, but there would be downsides to it as well. You would constantly be breaking stuff all the time just trying to do mundane tasks.
given what kind of power it grants [classic juggy] im pretty sure i could gain enough wealth or whatever was needed to get things custom made.. such as a toilet capable of supporting my weight. but i see your point. but alot of these things come with drawbacks.
a close 2nd for me would be the quantum bands [sp?]

That'd be pretty lame dude. If anyone would turn down something like a GL ring in order to have creative control of Marvel comics, I'd have to reach through the internet and slap them (using my GL ring of course).
lol like i said, a geek tool. i mean we all love comics. but given the possibilities it would be an insane waste to go with that version of the IG. but its more like a 'oh crap it doesnt work...well atleast i can cockblock some horrible writing'
no way in hell id pick it if i knew thats all it could offer. 🤣
It's time for the other side of the equation. Items that you think you'd want or sound cool, but would actually be problematic/dangerous.
Welcome, to "Artifact, schmartifact."
Starting with:
The Spear of Destiny. clap This legendary weapon is said to have pierced the side of Jesus. As a result, it has divine powers enabling it to slay anything up and including THE SPECTRE. And it gets better. It has the ability to control the minds and wills of super-powered beings (Not to the same extent as the ALE, which I'll get to later). During WW2, Hitler, working with a Japanese sorcerer known as the Dragon King combined the spear with the holy grail (Yes, THAT grail) to create a barrier around Axis territories which had the same effect as the spear's control power dubbed "The Sphere of Influence." Thus, any heroes entering turned to the Axis. Normal humans are immune, but powers of any kind, and you're screwed. The spear is indestructible, and recently also seems to be able to enslave divine beings, given what it did to Spectre.
And now the bad news. It's cursed and corrupted. 🙁 Though able to heal people and first used as a weapon of heroism by Longinus, whose eyes it healed, thanks to a series of evil owners (including Hitler, who probably had a lot to do with this problem), the spear is now evil. It's tried to turn everyone who's used it into the next Hitler or thereabouts, even people like Superman and Captain Marvel were not immune, though strongly resistant. Incidently, I'm not sure if this is still canon, but apparently Hitler was able to summon Valkyries who flew to the US to try and assasinate Roosevelt. Also, towards the end of the war, he tried to start Raganarok, but failed.
And worst thing is, the spear is tied into the Crime Bible and the cult of Cain, who is basically a prophet for Darkseid. So you have to fight an immortal for it, who has control of Spectre. Good luck! 😄
Next time on "Artifact, schmartifact", a look at Celestial technology.
