People say SF fanboys are bad... it depends on the media and what link is doing, however I must say I don't Link taking too many hits from Ryu. (As in Link can't take alot of Ryu's more powerful blows.)

There were others who defended Ryu, but eventually they came to their senses and realized the truth and began to demand the thread be left alone under the terms that it was a stalemate. Truth be told I didn't make this thread, so I wasn't looking for Ryu to get overkilled. However when people join the discussion and make statements such as "OMG Ryu is an adult Link is but a fairy kid! LOLZ HADOKEN FOR THE WIN!" I see myself arguing against them simply because of such a biased opinion. Ryu is a great fighter in SF terms and an overall great and classic character. However against someone like Link without any limitations to his arsenal, skills and magic he will get anally raped.

Pretty much. We never see Link perform any hand to hand stunts in any of the games. Until we get a LoZ where Link fights without his sword and shield...well maybe the Zora(Am I spelling it right?) and Goron's masks...But then he would still have an advantage over Ryu...meh.

no,and even then he still needs items to fight hand 2 hand,link nothin with out an arsenal.hes still cool but if u have to rely on weapons he isnt all that worthy.

The Judge didnt mention any rules to this battle, therefore, Link is definately fully aquipt with every item from every Zelda game.

12 In all honesty I can't see how Link would have it in on Ryu in any kind of way. So what if Link has a shield, a sword, 20 heart pieces, and magic. As far as I could remember as well as everybody else should, Ryu could transfer into Evil Ryu and invoke the Dark Hadou that is with-in his blood. After all he is the son of Akuma (japanese name Gouki.) Ryu may have strength, but he has different fighting techniques. his hadouken, the uppercut, as well as the hurricane kick. all close combat techniques. His super hadouken is a long range move which could be easily followed up with either the regular hadouken or the uppercut or even a basic fighting move. Link may be able to deflect it but his counter response time is way slower. Link's hack and slash with sheild block is nothing.

So all those Link fans play ya'll Zelda and then play street fighter and look at the response timing between both for defense and counters. Ryu has Link beat in strength, counter response timing, and speed. =)

see the thing is about you guys, you just don't understand the whole dynamics on why any SF character(excluding dans punk ass -_-)could actually pull off beating lynx ass in a bout....and the fact that you would actually put one of the main chars. not to mention one of the more powerful chars. (riding under Gouki) to fight a midget in a green kilt with a sheild and a sword to fight him is totally ridiculous...Ryu hands down.

And to say that he is good in his world doesn't matter, how would that be compared to Link in any way? We have compared him, and Ryu just doesn't match the skills to defeat Link with all his equipment, skills and MAGIC...
