DOWN WITH PAUL...DOWN WITH PAUL...DOWN WITH PAUL

That's what I shout when I see someone chugging a Stein of ale.

Paul recommends that Timothy drink wine for health reasons. Also, the Paul argues that drinking is useless because it does not add to our lives (at least it shouldn't). We know there is a problem if alcohol is needed to enjoy a moment. Paul basically argues that if it isn't going to increase your faith then there is no point in indulging in it, but he does not condemn it as sin.

^^ Can you post some verses???

Sure thing.
"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." 1 Timothy 5:23
"Do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery." Ephesians 5:18
Paul suggests wine to Timothy for health reasons. And then distinguishes that we should not get drunk because it leads to debauchery which is sinful. However, in saying this Paul recommends not to overindulge to the point of debauchery, without discrediting drinking entirely.

"He makes... wine that gladdens the heart of man" Psalm 104:15
"Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." Isaiah 55:1
I believe that wine is a gift from God that we must be careful not to abuse.

"Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise." Proverbs 20:1
It says not to be led astray by wine or beer. This essentially says that drinking is fine as long as it does not lead to sinning.
