God Sends "Good" People to Hell

I disagree. Many people believe that religion is a form of brainwashing.

To Regret, brainwashing is very real. You've seen it done.

Sorry, I'm speaking professionally here. Brainwashing is make believe, in the sense that someone could do it to another without their cooperation. Psychologically speaking Brainwashing is only a term describing teaching someone. You cannot brainwash someone that does not want to be brainwashed. It is like hypnotism. It is impossible unless someone wants it to be done.

I think that has some credibility. However, if you are raised from birth to accept certian things...thats easily brainwashing.

Brainwashing does not mean that you are mindless...

I understand, but brainwashing typically brings up some negative connotation. For instance, an image of someone strapped into a chair having images/text flickering on a screen while the person's eyes are held open, and the person leaving with a different mindset than they had entered with, typically a mindset they were opposed to. This idea that ones views and opinions can be drastically altered without consent is ludicrous.

Yes, I agree that the things taught an individual over time, particularly since an early period in childhood/infancy, are so solid it is difficult for these to change, but to term this "brainwashing" is extreme and probably erroneous. If this term is applied to that type of teaching/learning one must state that the majority of people have been brainwashed in this manner.

If God can do anything, God can do that.

If that were the case then there would be no people in Hell. But God does not force people to accept His love, he lets people choose to love or not to love Him. He allows people to choose where they want to spend eternity. But as much as God wants you to be with Him in Heaven he will not force you there. He wants you to receive exactly what you want: separation from Him in Hell forever. He does not want anyone to go to Hell but is at the mercy of our free will. Yes God is limited (by choice) because He is a gentleman (as it were) and Righteous Judge. God will not make you come to Heaven if you truly don't wand to be there.

What and how do you know that he sends good people to hell?We have no idea what happens to our souls when we die?Not until we are dead.So there is no possible way you know that god does that.jm

Actually, there's no real way for you to know anthing about "he" either.

Don't be afraid. God has stated in His Word that we are "not saved" from sin by our good moral deeds and/or lives. We are only saved from sin by our acceptance of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross. If we refuse to come to Jesus for entrance into Heaven then no matter how "good" we are, we will end up in Hell. I did not write this, God did. No person alive or dead is "good enough" to stand in God's presence. God has never sinned. But we have and until our sins are washed away in the blood of Jesus Christ, no matter how good we are, we are still sinners in God's eyes and we cannot stand in His holy (i.e. sinless) presence. Again, I did not make the rules God did.

just like the other white meat."ya know pork" yeah........good for you..........not.......or hmmm...........The goverment is looking out for you..........lol

Hmmm. So we are not saved from sin by fighting against "sinful" things and by having good intents and a strong will in resisting such things... we are saved by sin the quick way - we ask Jesus to save us and woohoo we are saved.

To damn with our intentions before or after the request. To hell with our actions before or after the request. Because the mind of man and the intent and motivations in it are, it seems, fundamentally irrelevant in the big scheme of things.

Brainwashing, an alternative term for "to be taught." Brainwashing is a fiction made up by conspiracy theorists.

Well, brainwashing could be said to be convinced by dishonest ways, such as pain and lies.

1) First of all, you cannot choose to love someone, or choose who you love. It happens on its own...if you can choose to "love" God, then that love is essentially superficial and unnatural.

2) You make it sound soo simple...accept Christ and go to Heaven....but it takes more than that doesn't it ? You have to live by the Bible (whatever the hell that means) word for word. No shaving your beards, no being gay, no masturbating over another woman, keeping holy the sabbath, no wearing polyester, etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.

Dont forget the candle arrangements!

It really isn't "He" in the originial Hebrew.

I found it interesting, back when I did Ancient Greek (Attic and Ionic) that the Holy Spirit was of the neuter gender (or without gender.) Not sure why, it was just an interesting thing I felt.

when you "did" ancient Greek?

First year of uni - Ancient Greek A and B. Purely textual/writing. Can't speak it for a damn, but with a good quality dictionary I can do a more then passable job on texts that fall under the Attic/Ionic dialects.

cool.
