I am not sure about that, never been part of an Old Boys Network...are you sure about nonwhites not being accepted? And even then, private organizations have every right to chose whoever they want as members, the government does not.
Besides The general idea of the two is widely different. If you had named your thread "There are slight similarities in-between Affirmative Action and the "Old Boys Network"...you would be right.

By the way: In California Universities, Asians are no longer considered "minorities" (eligible for AA) because there's so many of them and they have a very high college attendance rate.
