I said it was because it's not a seperate name on it's own, it's only a feminine form of a male name. It has no meaning of it's own.

It doesn't? It has a meaning as name, and it's means are from an original name being "Randy".
You said it was a made-up name, and last time I checked, all names were pretty much made up.
