You do have it, but it's just not there at birth I should say. It's something that you develop by knowing the self.
My cat has a very well developed sense of self. She has a strong opinion about what she wants and does not want. If it is not her idea, even if she wants it, she will not do it. However, she has found a way around this; if I call her on my lap to get a brushing, that she loves, she will not come right away. She will pretend to ignore me, but I can tell by the direction of her ears that she is listening to me. When I have stopped calling her, and enough time has past, she will jump onto my lap to get a brushing. Does my cat have a soul?

That's not what I mean by discovering yourself.
Think more along the lines of:
-The Heroes Journey
-The Trials of Hercules
-Odin's journey
- Crusifiction of Jesus
The Soul is the result of Self Discovery

I understand. I would call this my entity, and I have spoke with my entity. IMO an entity is not a soul.

A "Soul" is just a name, it's definition is subjective. A "Soul" to me is the self or Self-Discovery. Also, I wasn't talking about the daimon itself more so than the process.
I believe there is a connection between the word "Soul" and "Sol" as a motif in Western Religion.
I don't believe in a "me" but I believe in reincarnation, for instance...both of which would be consistent with Buddhism, where there is no "soul". But for the reincarnation belief, something has to carry on, so it's a tricky distinction. I think that the main issue comes from the conflict between the Western idea of 'soul' and Eastern concepts of unity and no-self.

I believe the ends are similiar between Western & Eastern mysticism, just difference in concepts. I believe in the self and I'm more of a Panentheist than a Pantheist. They seem to be different interpertations of the samething.
Please explain. I've heard of Pantheism, but never heard that variation on it.
