Mutation due to pollution. Parasites might cause it, but every case I'v ehead of has been pollution related.
We're talking genetic mutation right? If not my bad. If we are, then it isn't the cause of deformity in frogs, just the parasites. But yah, pollution is apart of what is making the parasites more common and the frogs' immunity lower.

Also, it's not true that mutations cause deformity, sterility, and sickliness--there are often beneficial mutations from the removal of deleterious (I like that word) genes.

It's the pollution........It's environmental....and we're next. 😠

Maybe this is the link. However, I thought the process was more direct.

I do know pollution is directly affecting fertility.

Some of have fetishes you know 😠

Selection? 13

shakefist

Curse you CharlesDarwin and your infernal flying machines . . . I mean scientific theories.

Its amazing how Darwin only came up with the idea, not really the theory.

What do you mean by that?

Darwin had no real mechanism for Natural selection. He didn't know what genes were, didn't even think about evolution as the distribution of gene frequencies, didn't think about a species as an interbreeding population. Didn't really calculate the environment in to the equation either.

Gotcha.

So yeah he had the concept and the antedotal proof without a scientific explanation of the phenomenon.

He had some evidence to base it off of. He was much more of a scientist than most "scientists" (biologists) were at the time and that helped. It just made sense to him and better explained things.

He happened to be right on a good portion of it.

Antedotal evidence.

Meh. It wasn't the best in the world, but it was good enough that he wasn't simply making stuff up.

I was highlighting that it's anecdotal, not "antedotal."

I gathered.

Yeah, but you were justifying...oh, nevermind.
