Creation vs Evolution

Sorry to break up the Evolution debate in answering this, but Leo needs a break from his thorough thrashing, and he said I wasn't empathic.

I think you got it wrong, the Earth itself was created in 6 (or less) days, was done sometime during the '6 days of creation'. maybe it took a second or was baked slowly for 6 days, not sure.

Exodus 20:11 (King James Version)

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The Earth is 6k years old starting after it's creation. Noah set sail about 1.6k years after creation, God wasn't patient back then.

im sure u understand evolution and genetics better than me. 🙂

Considering your displays in the last several pages, I do. I also happen to be a laymen in the fields.

impressive.

If this doesn't fit here, sorry, didn't want to start a new thread if it fit well enough here...

So, I was thinking about evolution a bit today and something hit me as a bit amusing... one of the big issues anti-evolutionists state is that it is demeaning for man to have as an ancestor an ape... yet the majority of them claim that man's ancestor was dirt... wouldn't it be more demeaning assuming that we came from dirt than from something as noble as an ape?

Just for clarification on my beliefs, I am religious but figure if creation occurred it was some form of evolutionary process used.

it was holey dirt iirc more precisely it was mud or clay...

anyways if we want to get even more scientific we humans as well as all life on earth are made up of "stardust" the raw materials from when the universe formed and solar systems and solar winds and explosions and whatnot.. finally we came to rest on this planet as matter.. 😖mart:

so it seems that religion might be correct mhmm to a degree.... coincidence? i think not. 😖hifty:

Dirt doesn't poop, or even worse, have sex. So no: it's more demeaning if we come from apes.

Of course, if they were "dirty apes" that might be a happy middle ground, as long as they weren't "damned."

Clay is Earth, and Earth was holy before the fall of man. Clay also makes pots and other items of everyday life (more so in the past). Apes and other animals compete for resources. Also, humans have a collective ego, and we like to think of our selves as something special. If we were just another animal, then why would God be interested in us?

It is really hard to even debate on both subjects.Alot of people go for Evolution and some for creation. This could go on forever.

Often it does.

how?

why did no one talk about my post? 😒

I did not see it what did you say?

You would have to believe in stars. 😛

we like to think of our selves

You mean, "the humans of one particular culture like to think of themselves..."

That particular conceit is not universal across human psychology. Just look at the animism of early (and modern) tribalists.

It's an impassioned topic. Just look at this thread: over 200 pages.

I can see that.It is always been a big topic for this site and people do have very interesting things to say about it.But I will always believe in Creation it makes more sence to me.

My opinion is that a "higher being" pushed us into existence by causing the big bang then evolution has done everything after that.

So you are saying that you believe in both Creation and Evolution?

totally could be!

If you were the creator would you create life forms that die out at every change in weather or climate? Or would you give there physiology some way to change / adapt / evolve to there environment.

Id make life that evolved and changed, that way i could just sit back and watch it grow, rather than keep running back to it to top up it's life expectancy everytime some new bacteria was introduced to them

. 😛
