They're all traditional patterns - done by a professional ta moko artist. They're just not a traditional place, which should be on my chin up to my bottom lip. Dad would kill me.

So went with the contemporary placing. Thinking about getting the backs of my legs done next. Or maybe just full sleeves. Dunno.

Hmm...I would say full sleeves, but I'm the minority when it comes to finding sleeved tattoos hot on women.

Traditional pigments are like a green/black, with red being a sacred colour in it's ocre form. Heaps of contemporary ta moko these days have red in them, but are usually lined with black. So in that way, no my tatts aren't normal - I asked the artist for red, and he said it is the first ta moko he has done with some sections being straight red. Gonna suck ass if the pigment fades...

How much of your back though? 😛 Would you have to incorporate your current lower back tattoo?

Nah i'd stay away from that tatt - keep them separate (Stupid tatt! Big regret on that thing now lol). Might make it go from one shoulder blade down and make it wrap across diagonally above the opposite hip.

Shoulda got it done by the ta moko artist who did my arms. Just glad I can't see it lol

mine are kinda thick, which made playing the piccolo the first time a bit tough, but i got used to it
plus the skin around my fingernails is all ****ed up cause of playing in the cold so much
our uniforms had white gloves, but we had to cut the tips of out fingers off the gloves otherwise it was impossible to play
