If you do not see the difference between summing up "I agree with that" with the word "that" and summing up "a lack of motivation to express oneself fully with multiple words" with "laziness", then you've missed the point entirely.
The word "that" does not sum up or have any meaning relative to expressing that you agree with something. Summing up that long explanation with the word "laziness" does have the same meaning as if I had actually said "a lack of motivation to express oneself fully with multiple words". It's not about fewer words, silly, it's about using words to explain yourself that actually have meaning rather than shortening things just for the sake of shortening them.
