The old poster, PVS/Schecter.
You get no pics of me, but you do get a picture about muh life.
I've been living a pretty poor life style for... ever, and I've been going to therapy and stuff to work on it for a few years now. In preparation for going back to college next week after a 2-year break (I am balls-tingling excited), I went to my family doctor yesterday and got a physical and a psych-exam. Turns out I'm at-risk for diabetes (which is no surprise, almost every male on my Dad's side of the family for the last three generations has died from a combination of diabetes and heart disease).
I've been a Scooby subscriber for years but have never really acted on his advice. So yesterday I used his little calorie calculator thingy for how many and what type of meals I should be eating daily and I'm gonna try to stick to it. The plan is to lose 1.4 lbs a week.
It kind of boggles my mind how cheap it is to eat not-shit, though. mmm That plate above contains a huge amount of food, and it collectively cost me about 4 dollars for all the ingredients in it.

Really, the only secret is to stay consistent: consistent with the exercise and diet.
Best of luck to you. I hope you achieve your fitness goals. If I get arsed, I'll post my before and after.

Robtard was onto something. I am positive I have patted the butts of every single brother-in-law I have. 🙂
So, yeah, if you marry into the family, you're going to get your butt pat.

Thanks for the encouragement, brother. Staying consistent will be the hardest part for me.How's your fitness thing going? I remember you made a thread awhiles back detailing your weight-loss attempts.
Oh, it's been going great, I've lost all my excess weight, never been as fit, got drafted to the German national football team, see me play on monday....
No, but yeah, I've not been consistent really I'd bee good for a week or two and then lazy for a couple months.

All you can do is analyze why it didn't work and then try to do better next time, I guess.

Blax, I'll dress as a cop and chase you. This should work.
Yeah, it's surprising to me as well. I've always been under the impression that eating shit like fast food for example is generally cheaper than trying to eat healthy, non-processed food.
I think that's the case when you shop at places like Whole Foods or Trader Joes (dunno if you guys have those). It's also probably cheaper to get food for a family via fast food; growing up in a family with a non-cooking single Dad, it was cheaper for him to spend 10 bucks at Wendy's and feed all four of us for a day than it was to buy groceries.
In my case, the dish above cost 4 dollars to make because I got most of it from a dollar store. 😐 The brown rice was an 11oz pack for one dollar, and the broccoli was also an 11oz pack for one dollar. The chicken breasts was ten dollars for a bag of ten, so it cost about two bucks for the two of them.
In general "natural" food seems to be a lot more expensive, and the stores that specialize in selling food like that will screw you. It seems like a lot of the financial finagling is about figuring out where to look.
We'll all be eating processed shit once global warming destroys all our agriculture systems though. 👆
