Yes. In this country it's more of a marketing gimmick as opposed to a religious holiday.

It's a religious holiday? 😕

😂

Christmas too far? No....Christmas is only a little more than a month away. Stores are advertising now because people like to shop early, rather than crunching it in the last minute.

About the songs, so what? You don't have to listen to that station. It's called free will...You should check into it.

in the past 50 or so years christmas has turned from a holiday celebrating the birth of christ into a two month old market whore.

So it's all a tad more believable now... hmm

I feel that Christmas stealing more and more time every year. There is a radio station already playing Christmas music and its not even thanksgiving yet.

And people keep coming out with Christmas albums……Kenny G has a Christmas album and he is Jewish for Christ sake. The whole damn holiday is one HUGE ploy to drain the money out of the world’s pocket and put it into companies.

Don’t get me wrong I like Christmas but I don’t like Christmas in November. If Christmases destructive path doesn’t change it will be Christmas all year long.

Who feel Christmas should be put back were it belongs in December.

Its already in December by the way.

And Christmas is probably one of the popular most holidays in the world. How does this drain money if its just a holiday that is very important to others probably. You probably dont take it as serious so I might see youre point but theres many more who do like the holiday and would do things for the holidays.

In my opinion, Easter's a lot worse...Christmas, however, isn't just about the birth of christ; all of my friends just use the word Christmas, but they're actually celebrating the Yule.

And go figure, Christmas went from being Pagan to being Christian.

Tings change. One day Santa will be extinct and all that will be lift is gifts for 6 months of the year.

So what? People have fun.

Either by actually enjoying the hype, or by being able to be old grumpy people who can suddenly complain two months about something other people enjoy (like you).

Consumerism is the predominant religion now...in the west at least.

I like consuming stuff..can't help it.

I don't like the fact that the build-up begins so early now, because it diminishes it for me. Although, I just tend to avoid thinking about it until December.

I'm a Thanksgiving man. Sure, I'd like to see more Thanksgiving CD's, TV specials, and dogs wearing pilgrim hats, but it is what it is. Christmas makes the bucks.

Isn't Thanksgiving where the Indians helped you and you massacred their people in return?

It makes the money because it is a worldwide thing. Thanksgiving's just American, so there for people who have emigrated to the US don't celebrate it, whereas the large majority of people celebrate Christmas, or some other celebration at about the same time, which means more people buy things at that time of year, which means companies try and take advantage of this by advertising.

No, it's the holiday where I get 5 days of leftover dark meat, knock my brother's block off in a game of street football, the Detroit Lions play at 12:30, the Dallas Cowboys play at 4:00, and we head to the movies at 8:00 if everyone's not too stuffed or drunk.
