Doesn't change the fact that the Spurs are winning in 4 or 5.

Yea,but the refs should of let it go it wasn't that serious.

Yeah, it was sort of a bad call. But I don't think it is AS bad as the analysts say it is. Still a stupid play by Kristic.

Lakers lost.

How many open jumpers did Smush miss in that game?

I hate to say it but looks like they need Chucky Atkins back, at least he use to make those wide open 3 pointers most of the time.

Smush was horrible I was impressed with Luke Walton though.
Kwame Brown was aggressive but wasn't making anything.........😬
I still see Lakers getting 2 wins not more then that.

That was a decent effort by the Lakers, when you miss that many open jumpers and have a poor shooting night from Kobe and still almost steal the game im not gonna complain.
The Lakers managed to slow the game down which was their game plan going in, we pounded the ball inside but Kwame missed a few easy ones. Odom played well from the post, he needs to camp down there and direct the offense. He will either be doubled or be able to make a move a score, Marion cant handle Lamar down low. Kobe played playmaker for most of the game and kept his teammates involved but he was out of rhythm when he tried to get it going in the 4th. I would like to see him pick his spots during the whole game so he can keep his rhythm, as long as they slow the game down and play the triangle there will be plenty of chances for the other Lakers (especially with the Suns weak interior defense).
Defensively we have to stay home on all the shooters and let Nash become the primary scorer. If Nash gets 40+ thats cool, its the assists for wide open 3's that hurt.
I am looking forward to game 2 now, we showed alot of heart in that game for such a young ball club and i dont expect #8 to shoot that badly again (i hope i didnt just jinx him). 😮

Oh and Rza, Chucky was a good shooter but he was also one of the worst defenders i have ever seen. Im happy with Smush, those shots will go down as he gets more playoff experience.

this is the one thing i liked to hear out of the three articles i have read about new jerseys loss to indiana...

“We know that we got lucky today,” Carlisle said. “We know Vince Carter is not going to have another 1-for-8 3-point game or 12-for-33 game, because he’s a great player and he’s going to make his shots. We got very fortunate that he didn’t have his best game.”

😆 You're too much man.

Pau Gasol looks like Jesus out there.

I was kidding about the Chucky Atkins thing 😄

I still think you guys need a real pt guard tho. I think having a good solid consistent option at the pt would take a lot of pressure off Kobe and free him up a bit. If Kobe can get 81 pts. without having a good pt guard in the backcourt with him, imagine what he would do playing along side one. It doesn't have to be anyone fancy, maybe someone like a Ron Harper from the old 'Bulls' team who can fit into the triangle. Just a thought. I think you'll see Aron Mckie get a lot more playing time at the pt from here on out.

Btw, I don't see the defensive skills in Smush either, I've seen him get burned by a lot of pt. gaurds this season.

Anyways, get the pt. 😉

Yeah, and Memphis is hoping he delivers them a win 😄

They're practically getting raped out there. Gasol is going to have to perform a miracle.

Yeah, kinda like turning water into wine 😉

Wow, someone other than me taking time to talk about the Lakers - sweet. 😱

I like Smush as a back up, but i do think he has played well as a starter all things considered. He has bad fundamentals when it comes to defense which is to be expected from a streetballer, but he does have crazy quick hands and the right build to be a solid defender given the right coaching. The main problem with him is that he goes for the steal too often when he should be just trying to stay in front of his man.
I totally agree we need a starting PG, i would have Marcus Banks or Chris Duhon on my list as reasonably cheap PG (we are over the cap so we dont have too many ways to acquire one).
Aaron McKie has been injured for most of the season but hopefully he will be healthy enough to get some minutes. He is that heady vet with a calming influence, its funny you mention Harper because he also had the same role on the Lakers during our 3-peat years.

i heard the lakers are interested in jay williams, you remember him?...he played for the bulls for like a season, came out of duke...he hasnt been in the league in the past year or so because he has been rehabing from a motorcylce accident that almost cost him his leg....anyways when he played for the bulls he showed some potential, if i was the lakers i would risk it and give him a shot

i gotta eb hoenst... the lakers seemed to play pretty well considering kobe had a bad game... well it was bad for him... if a couple of those shots fell for him it may have been a different story. i think the closer the game is i fancy the lakers to pinch it... but pheonix are always capable of blowing out the opponents... gonna be a good series though. nash at the end was mvp for me.. nice 3 pt dagger

mavs showing why they're one of the best... second best record in the west and they gotta play the fith seed... the grizz who are capable of upsets... but dallas held em back really well i thought.

Word, memphis came back early in the 4th and Dallas, like an angry dog owner, said 'no! sit down! no! know your role b****'

I was dissappointed in the Nets, grr, but my other picks handled their business, detroit, phoenix, miami(tho that one got close). im pulling for Sac. because the backup SG is a friend of a friend, but they really dont have much of a chance. spurs got that one. then cleveland is going to pull it out i think, and i dont know who between the clippers and whoever they're playing, just pulling for the Clips cuz they frankly deserve it

clips versus nuggets.... clips will win this. they have a much better record than denver... though i'm a fan of camby, clips will win... if they dont? rename the franchise tha la slippers

I'm still royally pissed that Dallas and San Antonio will have to meet in the 2nd.

yeh... it does suck. but at least the clips and the suns may have an awesome series... that for me is a seven gamer. for some reason... i see the mavs getting to the finals, just because they've been close last few years and now they have pretty good defense... mavs versus spurs is gonna be incredible to watch

I want to see Phoenix vs Dallas, and i dont care in what round

HAHA Dwayne Wade just OWNED the Bulls at the half
