Bonzi Wells signed with Houston, man i like their team this year if they stay healthy.

Alston/T-Mac/Battier/Howard/Yao with Bonzi as 6th man. Not bad at all.

^ That definitely sounds better than what they had last year.

Battier's a Rocket? nice, his defense will help them out big time, but if he can step up his offense and average around 15 to 16 consistently than he would be an even a better addition.

I think he has too considering what time he is on.

i'm sure he has ties from being on mtv where he could get some big names on the show, i think he does it to help out smaller bands but that is pure assumption on my part

Maybe maybe.

Anybody play Live or 2k7? I rented Live on the 360 and so far I don't like it, Maybe I have to get used to the next gen or whatever, but If I don't get used to it I'm giving 2k7 a chance.

I haven't played the new ones yet, but I liked 2k6 more than Live 06 (and I'm usually a fan of Live).

What system?

Because I loved Live last year for Ps2, but I don't like it for the 360. I've never played a 2k game before so I can't really compare that.

i like the live ones a lot better, but i dont know about 360 cuz i dont have it but, im still goin with live.

jay williams is actually coming back to the nba, after a 3 season disappearence. and he's a net now, yay! 😄

NBA Live is the sh*t for Ps2. Not so much for 360.

The 2k series have come along way, atleast in Bball, not sure about anything esle, they use to be horrible and everyone just went with Live, but the past few years I prefered the 2k series with with ps2 or xbox, not sure about the 360, havent played it yet.

I've always preffered 2K when it comes to basketball. It's the most realistic NBA simulation.

However like any video game these days it had it's bugs and with the new 2 button shoot system and the All Star weekend feature that Live added to their game I decided to give Live a try and buy it for the 1st time last year. Garbage. Plain and simple. They still have yet to fix their engine. I'm sorry but players are not suppose to ice skate on the court, it feels like you're playing hockey. Every time I use to play Live in the past they had that same problem. The way the players move is also unrealistic and the teams aren't represented the way they should be. Some teams are better defensively and others better offensively, in Live they all seem to play the same.

I remember getting a trible-double with Chris Mihm in pts, rebounds and blocks. Not only is that not realistic but that's just plain absurd. I would've never been able to do that in 2K, ever.

Also, 2K has always had the upper hand in graphics as well but Live has been catching up recently.

What they really need to do is get together and make a game that combines the best features from both.

My recommendation, if you just want to play the arcade style basketball with friends or online. Then go with Live.

If you want a real simulation and you're gonna wanna play some full seasons alone go with 2K.

yea, i agree, I played Live last year and Yao was beatin A.I off the dribble, who woulda thunk it?

I've played both 06 games for xbox and gaycube. 2k6 was superior IMO on both systems. In the past, I have always preferred the Live games with the exceptions of the Kobe's Courtside games in the early 2000s (they really should have continued making those).

HAHAHAHAH 2 years, 5 mil! Nice job Bonzi! You've probably lossed ten to twenty million of smackers.

Dude had a 5 year 35 mil on the table and turned it down. Then the Kings even upped the deal to 38 mil for five years and he turned it down again. Bonzi and his former agent are complete idiots considering they weren't going to get a better deal anywhere else and especially not in the future considering Bonzi is only going to get older and more injury prone with the way he plays.

I'm actually glad he turned down the offer. I would've loved him the first two years but the last three years would've been ugly. Bonzi's style of play doesn't exactly usually fit well with father time. He just would've been another Webber sooner or later. Too much money and too many injuries.

uhh...just a thought: some players, actually a lot of players want to be in teams that actually have a potential of winning. I would think of that first before jumping into calling him an idiot. As you can see, the kings are going NOWHERE. they were a solid team when they had peja, webber, christie, and divac, but as the saying goes, nothing good lasts forever. the kings have shriveled up since then. the rockets on the other hand, improved. they now at least have some potential, now that they have the solid core that kool mentioned.

What in the hell are you talking about? Did you even watch last season?

I guess having the fifth best record in the league since they acquired Artest is now considered going nowhere. That's funny.

The Kings have two young studs in Martin and Garcia. Martin, Bonzi's replacement, could average anywhere from 14 to 20 points this year. Garcia showed flashes of brilliance and could be a lock down defender this year with his long wingspan. They have a good core of veterans with Bibby, Rahim, Miller. They have Mussleman who is one of the best young coaches in the game. Oh, and they have the best two-way player in the game, Ron Artest. You might have heard of him. They may not be a contender just yet, but please don't tell me they are shriveling up, they're expanding if anything.

The Rockets, while much improved, aren't in a better situation than the Kings. T-Mac's back could have huge problems for his career and past Yao and Battier, they've got nothing in terms of long term players. And let's remember there's a clause in Bonzi's contract where he can op out after the first year to test the market again. Oh yes, Bonzi is there for the long haul for those improving Rockets!

And to further kill your point, Bonzi did want to go to Sacramento first but it was just at too high a price. Since you don't the situation and how it took place here's what happened: Bonzi and his agent wanted 10 mil a season which was simply delusional. The Kings offered a 5 year 35 mill, which was generous on the Kings part, in which Bonzi balked. The Kings even increased their offer in which Bonzi again denied. So the Kings, seeing the free agent market decreasing, sign a low cost Salmons to take Bonzi's spot. Since the Kings were done with free agency, Bonzi wouldn't be able to get a better deal than the Kings one as the Kings one was the best . This lead to his agent's firing and signing a crap 2.5 mil deal with Houston so he can op out and test it again hoping he can get anything close to the 7 mil.

In conclusion, yes, he and his former agent were idiots.

first of all, you need to calm down. you sound like i just dissed your family. i said it was just a thought, because a lot of players these days are eager to sign with or be traded to different teams with better potential. "To further kill you point." you must take this really seriously.

i can easily tell you're a kings fan by how your reacting to this, but anyway, the kings are NOT better than the rockets, are you KIDDING me. Do you even know Artest's history? He always says that he'll give it his all in the begining, and yes, he's starts out on fire, but as time passes by, he starts getting lazy and selfish and not nearly as commited. Artest is a great player, but in terms of discipline and team orientation, he's abysmal. if you dont agree, you must be in denial.

All of the other players you mentioned besides Bibby are not "go to" guys that you can rely on often. Rahim's good, but he's way passed his prime, and he's not nearly as effective. as for Miller, gets his stats, but he's not a dominant center. Even though he's a good shooter, he should be inside getting rebounds, instead of shooting 3's. Martin is a decent scorer, but that's about it. he's not averaging 20 points. maybe 14, which is stil not a big contribution to the team. wow, if you have to rely on calling martin and garcia stud players of your team, it just shows how deep the team really is.

Having 5th best record for half of the season when artest arrives is nothing. the nets were 1st in the league in 04-05 after vince carter arrived. Their last 18 games, they won 15 of them. but does that make them better than the heat or the pistons or even the cavs in your mind? same with the rockets and kings. the rockets had a slumping year, but t-mac is getting healthy, and yao? gimme a break, the guy's 7' 6", he can shoot, he rebounds, blocks shots, etc. comparing him to miller would be an insult to yao.

i didnt mean shriveling up last season or now. i meant compared to a few years a ago, the kings are much worse.

So since I destroyed your argument on the Bonzi deal you have to go to the "dissed your family" act. Nice. I would like to see where I insulted you personally or called you names, considering I was acting like my family was dissed. I was arguing my point, deal with it.

Nice cheapshot with the "your a Kings fan" jab. Um, who is the one throwing insults around here? Someone's taking things a little too seriously, and it's not me.

So your basing that the Rockets are better than the Kings on Artest's past? Great, but your forgetting something. When Artest came to the Kings the single most important factor wasn't his defense, or his offense or anything stat related. You know what was most important? His leadership. When he came here, he took the young guys under his wing, and got guys who were slacking off like Bibby and Thomas to start playing with heart, and turned a lackadaisical team into a good to great defensive team. That was the biggest reason for their turnaround. And everything Artest has said and done has been positive. Could he do something stupid again? Of course, but your whole argument is on the "what if" scenario. Yes he could do something stupid, but ya know what, he might not do something stupid and continue being a great leader for the Kings.

Rahim is still one of the better PF in the league. He won't score as much as he used, but he is still damn good with a great fg percentage. I seem to remember Duncan having fits with him in the playoffs. Rahim's only weakness is his rebounding.

For one thing, you don't know how good Martin is going to be. Which is why I said he could average anywhere from 14-20 points. He also is improving as a defender (he was the only guy who could guard Parker with any consistency in the playoffs) and he's a good rebounder as a two guard. Lots of upside there.

Um no, I called them "young studs" as in "quality young talent". I'm still looking where I called them the studs of the team.

Yes, Miller isn't a dominant center, no shit. But he is a solid one, who is one of the few who can shoot outside. And he could improve a lot under Muss, since Muss isn't going to take any of his sissy stuff. We could see a resurgence of his Indiana days.

Yes the Rockets will be improved but what have they got past Yao, T-Mac, Batt, and Bonzi? Nothing, that's what. They are not a team that can take a injury and have much less depth than the Kings considering the Kings can put out Rahim, Garcia, Salmons, and maybe Doubly if he pans out as a Bobby Jackson clone from the bench.

This is funny. So by your logic, the Rockets, who were not in the playoffs last year and have never made it out of the first round with Yao, are as good as the Spurs and Mavs. Is this true? Because you compared it to the Nets resurgence with the Pistons and Heat, the two best teams in the East. I think you're being dillusional if you think the Rockets are/were at that level.

Yes, there are not as good as a few years ago, but that doesn't mean they are going nowhere. That was a stupid statement, and I called you on it.

wow, dude whats funny is that your putting words in my mouth. i never said i was insulted. i was giving imput that bonzi might have wanted to be on a better team. the only person who's taking it seriously is you. i said that i can tell you're a kings fan, how am i being too serious about it. while you say stuff like, "HAHAHAHAH Bonzi and his agent are the biggest idiots," "What the hell are you talking about!?" "So i DESTROYED your argument" "To further KILL your argument" "Yes, that was a STUPID statement, and IM CALLING YOU ON IT" Just to mention a few. sounds like your the one taking this too seriously, does it not? and then you talk about cheapshots? dude, all i want to do is express my thoughts, and then you blow up like TNT.

Ok, done with that, now onto the next part. Yes, artest is a great leader, but you cant completely ignore what he did in indy. He came in with great leadership and talent to spur the pacers forward. And after all the trouble he put the pacers in, he says "i dont want to play anymore" and leaves. ron artest is NOTORIOUS for this. so it could be disastorous if he leads another team down like that.

I didnt mean the nets are better than the heat or the pistons. I said that just because they had a very good stretch in 04-05 doesnt mean that you would think they are better than the heat or the pistons, or even the cavs (although i think the nets are better than the cavs). Same analogy as the fact that it doesnt really matter if the kings were fifth in the league after artest came. it doesnt necessarily mean the kings are better than the rockets. and when did i ever say the rockets were better than the mavs or spurs?

and no, your argument doesnt even phase me. the rockets are much better. see, you say "what have they got past Yao, T-Mac, Batt, and Bonzi? Nothing, that's what." but at the same time, you consider quicy doubly, garcia, martin, and salmons (lol) to be REALLy good players, while you call the rockets juwan howard, dikembe, kirk snyder, bob sura, luther head, and casey jacobsen to be nothing. Wow, if i have to pick a group, i would definately pick the rockets' backup squad. Plus, they have alston, and t-mac, battier, yao, and now bonzi to start. lots of upside here as well. who looks like they made the stupid statement now?

when i said that the kings are going nowhere (you know we humans like to exagerate a lot), i meant that they have a long way to go before making it back to where they were a few years ago. sorry if that offended you.

calling rahim one of the better PF in the league is sort of an overstatement. he's good, but not nearly as good as you think he is. i wouldnt call 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists, really good for him. and his blocks are at .58, and his steals are .67. not so great, huh?

oh yeah, and as for coaches, are you really gonna compare musselman to jeff van gundy?

I'm still waiting to see where I was talking cheap shots or taking things too seriously. Dude, if you have a problem with me saying stuff like "Yes, that was a STUPID statement, and IM CALLING YOU ON IT", then, you really need to grow up. I mean, it wasn't like I called your mother a whore, I called your statement stupid, what's the harm in that? And why did you have to cap words such as stupid, or destroyed. Those aren't cheap shot words. None of those statements attacked you personally, as they were all in the context of your argument. It's called arguing.

And I did destroy your argument, did I not? I had watched the whole thing play out and see Bonzi being way too greedy and it backfired on him. I thought it was funny. Then you come in, make an absolutely ridiculous argument (and it was Rec, this is not insulting you or cheapshoting you), that somehow he would actually take a 6 mil pay cut just so he could be on the Rockets were at best in the same situation as the Kings. Don't you think he would rather sign with the Spurs, Mav's, Heat, or Detroit. You know, a great team instead of the Rockets who will just be a good team?

How have I blown up like TNT? Stop blowing things out of proportion. You argued a point, I countered a point. Stop bitching about something that's not there.

Yes, not shit Rec. We all know Artest could blow up again. This is old news. It's is still a "what if?" scenario just like T-Mac's back injury problem.

Because that was your comparison. You compared the Nets to the Heat and Pistons. Then you said this was true for Kings and Rockets which simply makes no sense. If you had said this was true for the Kings and let's say Spurs, then it would make sense. Get it?

Pretty much yes, I mean, the Rocket bench sure did a lot last year. The Kings main problem last year wasn't the bench. It was guys like Bibby, Miller, Thomas, and Peja slacking off. You know, the starters.

Make your point more clearly, then. Saying a team is going nowhere is different than saying that a team has a ways to go to get back to the top. Philly is going nowhere, Boston is going nowhere. The Kings aren't.

Where did I say the Rockets wouldn't be improved? They are going to be a good team, you're just overrating them.

Which is why I said "one of the better PF in the L" you know, not shit, not great, just good. I never said the man was Duncan.

How can I compare them? Muss had two years as a head coach with a crap team and brought them the best winning year they've had in 10 years. Gundy was already brought in with good roster's with the Knicks and a decent one with the Rockets.
